I can just imagine how well it would go down if we missed out on signing someone who went on to light up the Premier League and it turned out we'd had a deal agreed but weren't allowed to complete it because the fans wanted us to tie down Kenny Tete on a free first.Yes they should definitely be made in order of priority otherwise you run the risk of not filling your most important positions like we have done for god knows how many windows. There is nothing more important than a right back after spending a full season without one and with a world cup just about to start. Granted we do need a defensive mid as well to take over from the ageing Gana.
Center Forward is a priority too as Barry is a complete dud and it takes Beto half a season to get going. Best he could be is backup.
There are obviously quite a few positions that need sorting out and this lad is one of them and will be a decent signing but i just don’t trust Everton's way of doing it one bit. I wouldn't be surprised if they leave the right back till the end and bollox it up again.
Moyes doesn't play youngsters though.![]()

A new striker is so important for me, almost as important as decent fullbacks.Especially the striker…there’s no way we can have Barry on the pitch next year
He doesn't.
^ An he took Dibling off at half time.
Quite clearly, David Moyes prefers experience - and experience is coming back in fashion, don't you know?!
That's the thing though, we're either competent or we're not. Doing things in a different order won't make us more or less competent so it's completely irrelevant. It does nothing to change how good the business is or how likely it is to get done, all it means is you get to say 'phew we signed a right back' earlier. If we're incompetent then there's a very good chance that right back will be rubbish, so what have we gained? Nothing. In this hypothetical world we’re a competent organisation that can do more than one thing and talk to more than one person at a time though.
Is 24 years old really that young?Moyes doesn't play youngsters though.![]()
Again, Moyes being the main obstacle to this, but we’ve got a super promising young lad there in Graham who must be chomping at the bit for a chance. If we shift Beto and Barry surely we can put together a bid for an actually competent striker to start with Graham as the understudy on the bench. He simply cannot be any worse than Barry.A new striker is so important for me, almost as important as decent fullbacks.
Doesn't matter how much we strengthen other areas, if we still have Beto and Barry as our striker options next season we'll struggle to score goals and win matches.
Sign as many CM's as you want, but with Keane and Tarks behind it wont change anything.Fair, still extremely concerned over the center backs and striker apathy they seem to have though
Especially the striker…there’s no way we can have Barry on the pitch next year
Everton didn't get a RB last summer because it wasn't a priority to one man, not because players were signed in the wrong sequence.Yes they should definitely be made in order of priority otherwise you run the risk of not filling your most important positions like we have done for god knows how many windows. If I remember correctly (please say if wrong), Tete was the player we first made an official offer for? So RB was at the start of the ‘sequence’ in some ways. But he knocked us back and as you said, Moyes thought we were abundant at that position with exclusively square pegsEverton didn't get a RB last summer because it wasn't a priority to one man, not because players were signed in the wrong sequence.
Yes, correct. We offered an out of contract player and then gave up on the position. If I remember correctly (please say if wrong), Tete was the player we first made an official offer for? Graham shouldn’t be anywhere near our starting lineup and if he is the club are a joke.Again, Moyes being the main obstacle to this, but we’ve got a super promising young lad there in Graham who must be chomping at the bit for a chance.
