Beckford, yes. He's at least playing for the shirt and looks like scoring. He looked genuinely gutted with the ones he missed on Saturday. I think he'll be in double figures by the end of the season, which for a freebie from League One I'll be more than happy with.

Yakubu I think can still do a job, the team looks more dangerous with him in it and his approach and hold up play is excellent, he can bring the midfield into play more and stick a decent cross in too as well as finish. He's just not been getting into positions where he can finish. If we could combine him and Beckford into one player our problems would go away! Yak would have put away most of the chances Becks has had.

Saha needs to shape up or ship out. Doesn't look arsed, hasn't scored in nearly a year, doesn't even look like scoring, isn't playing for the team, and is just moping around at the moment. £60K a week, he's taking the piss. Either that or he's just past it, sadly. Crap, really, as he was amazing this time last year.

None of that really helps us though, so I think we need someone in January and need to start climbing the table a bit before then even or this season could see the good work of the last few years unravel very quickly.

This in it's entirety!!

I just wish Yak wasn't dropped for those games after he started to look good....Beckford will start scoring IF he starts getting his chance. I really want him to start this weekend, and not be dropped the week after if he hasn't scored against Chelsea away.....

So.

If every player in the Prem was shipped off due to their current form not being perceived to be in line with their wages, you'd have over 50% turnover each year.

If we're talking about Saha, aren't we thinking ten months out of form? More like a career than a blip.

I like the Yak- I think he offers a lot in his hold up play and with players like Pienaar, Cahill and Arteta running off him we offer a more attacking edge. Saha is a good finisher but has looked absolutely stinking recently- I dont have faith in Saha at the moment.

Beckford isnt good enough at the moment- he's working hard and he could come good but this season he isnt ready- bit part off the bench but I think a good few games in the reserves may give him a bit of confidence again.

In short i dont have much faith in 2/3 of our strikers. I want Yakubu to start against Chelsea with Cahill supporting, Fellaini as the holding midfielder with Arteta in their with him.

Saha has scored some great goals. But I fear he has had it...

We have to fight for everything now, and Saha is more of a "I want to look good when i'm scoring" kind of guy. I just want the net to rattle.

Moyes once subbed him coz he had an eyelash in his eye.

"Davey Davey, i Canny voir, theres un cheveu tout petit dans mon œil, née ack, vient de me descendre hein?"

Isn't Arteta suspended...Rodwell may start , also Pip in the holding role I reckon

With Cahill going, I'd like us to give some combination of Beckford and Gueye a try (with Gueye not stuck out on the left). Our regular scorers (outside Tim) aren't doing it and the time for patience is kind of running out.

(Gueye was a goalscorer before he came here. Six goals in the first six matches in 2009, apparently.)

But we won't.

What happened to the Portuguese lad, btw? (Not that I am suggesting him, just haven't seen his name in the reserves recently. Is he injured?)

I say put the young inexperienced lads on. Every other team in the prem seems to pull out these random players we've never heard of who just about do the business, which is sometimes all you need to help carry you until the better paid players start showing why they are paid better.

Ive been thinking that Beckford and Big Vic could be a productive partnership?

It could work, but there's a lack of finesse there, you need a cool head in forward areas, someone who can slow things down, control and make the right pass. Yakubu's that man at present.

Beckford and Anichebe is raw pace and power, I'd have no problem throwing them on towards the end of games, it gives you a different option.

Pace is always an asset. I would like Yak n Beckford given a start. Yak can pick a pass at times and Beckford has the pace .....but am I dreaming
