You know, although he's put it in a very bald way, I don't think he's actually wrong there.

People will jump on it for the usual reasons, but if you look for actual examples of racism as the cause for critique of her there's basically no solid evidence.

And if we're grown ups and able to have a real discussion about it, there are different types of blackness and it does make a difference when it comes to racism, because racists are generally extremely stupid and are reacting to visual stimuli pretty much solely.

If she were white and acted the same way, I think she'd have got the same treatment personally. I think the 'race card' here is a misnomer used to stifle criticism.

"We want a private life! We don't like the media!"

*proceeds to chase every bit of attention possible, 24/7, including hyped up interviews with Oprah.

"I was bullied!"

*dismisses allegations of bullying against her.

... as much as I think the royals are pointless, these two really are the worst due to their sheer, constant hypocrisy

There is a difference having the media while you are working and then them trawling through your friends family looking in your rubbish or taking a titillating pictures of your Mrs in a bikini which no would have happned. Harry made it very evident many years before meeting Meghan the UK press were on borrowed time, he was never going to tolerate the levels his mother did. Going forwards it's speeding up a much reduced royalty and hopefully the demise.

I really don't care, but on a human level I take the couple's side, especially with the suspicious timing of the report of bullying and an internal HR inquiry. Soft targets to shift any media focus away from the Grand old Perv of York.

But there are some who are convinced she isn't of the correct "stock". And those same people are more than aware she is of mixed race parentage. The "different types of blackness" didn't offer much in the way of protection during the heyday of Jim Crow laws.

A mate of mine has very slightly darker skin than my white skin, just a trace of Bolivian heritage. More than enough to have one idiot square up to him and say "You're not black, but you're not quite white are you?"

There's an alarming number of racists out there who bristle at anyone not quite white enough or where there is clear evidence of non-white heritage.

These two are only giving exactly what the public thrives upon. Its self fulfilling , as posting in this thread shows the radio shows the comments in other media's. They certainly know how to earn a crust these two.

The Amazon river runs for thousands of miles, at some points it runs through areas of the rain forest that are almost untouched and have been barely explored. Because of the porous limestone in these areas, the river water leaks through the stone and travels deep into the earth and forms underground pools almost a mile below the surface. Over thousands of years, small blind transparent fish have lived and evolved in these pools. These fish have never seen the sun or surface and have never been seen by the human eye.....these fish care more about the royal family and their endless, tedious family drama then I do..........

The whole Harry and Meghan business is very unseemly as I see it.

You simply cannot separate/break off from the Royal Family, at the level Harry is at.

It just seems they wanted all of the advantages of Senior Royals, and none of the disadvantages, and notable that they ensured they got the mega wedding first.

It does seem like an exercise in monetizing their status to me.

Everything they say and do is a media event, and they are everywhere. They can't live in seclusion, but I'm sure they could survive financially if they weren't constantly in the spotlight, at their own bidding.

You can't have your cake and eat it is the lesson here.

Once the Queen dies, there's no way the Royal family is surviving on its own. I can easily see the first British Republic.
