If there’s a criminal accusation he should have his day in court, and have the benefit of doubt in that process

Right, but that's not what happened on social media is it? He was called a liar by everyone.

Yet when a high profile royal people LIKE does a very public interview then it's forbidden to call her a liar.

You're not soft mate, you see the underlying contradiction and the problem with society.

Do you think when a pregnant women claims she’s suffered mental health issues and suicidal ideation, that calling her a liar on national TV to an audience of millions is a responsible thing to do? Either to the woman in question or to others who many suffer from mental health issues?

Yes I do, as said woman chose to do a completely optional high profile public interview and is therefore a valid target for discussion and critique.

She has no automatic right whatsoever to be believed.

I guess we should all believe Prince Andrew about Pizza Express and not sweating then.

This is something that can be proved to be true or not and hopefully will do in a court of law.

Somebody saying they felt suicidal can not be proved either way, therefore you apply sympathy to the situation and don’t call that person a liar infront of millions of people.

Bit of a daft comparison.

But they were ridiculous excuses. If we’re doing the ridiculous equivalence thing then do you think if someone, say in the depression thread on here, said they were feeling suicidal, you think it would be appropriate to say they weren’t?
I mean you could possibly think it but to call it an outright lie or cast aspersions given the significance, is abhorrent behaviour and could affect the way other people feel they can express these thoughts.

This is a very high profile woman who stands to profit to the tune of millions by painting herself as a figure of sympathy.

It's a very different situation to Joe Bloggs on a forum posting anonymously.

I didn't believe her about that either. It's an opinion, a valid one.

People lie all the time. I remember the maddest one was on Big Brother one year where some girl cried about getting hit by a fella in the house - a complete, total lie, but if no cameras were there she'd be automatically believed 100% in today's environment. It's dangerous.

Very arrogant and dangerous to dismiss someone's view on their own mental health.
And that's why all this concern and talk about people with mental health is a joke what with ITV current work with MIND because individuals like you will dismiss it because it's your opinion, even if it's collaborated by the spouse.

Why would we want to prove that someone is lying of suicidal thoughts?

I can understand that people want to catch potential criminals though.
