I've been to Madrid. I went to the palace as I like to see nice architecture and grand buildings. They have a royal family and I only know this because I wasn't allowed in certain areas of the building. To me the Spanish royal family didn't attract me to the country or the city or even the building they just stopped me from seeing a lot of a building that I was interested in. Most normal tourists would probably feel the same about the British Monarchy, not the small percentage of weirdos that hang around for hours hoping to spot a royal but the people who see Buckingham Palace as a tourist attraction on a par with "Big Ben"

The idea that people come to this country to see them 'personally' and that they make this country more money then it costs to keep them is absurd.

Tourists come to see the castles, palaces, walk the gardens and get their pictures taken with the guards who wear the funny hats.
Keep all that by all means, but lets stop pretending that keeping hereditary monarchy in the 21st century is anything other than bizzarre.

Hell, they could even start opening up all the palaces up for tourists, probably make a fortune doing that.

Indeed, a lot of pomp and ceremonies that are nice and touristy don't really need any royal to be in attendance do they?

As soon as we get them paying inheritance tax like the rest of us, they'll soon start vanishing of their own accord.

I’d be amazed if it was, tbh.

I think the disconnect with his dad is specifically because he (Charles) is the one person whose experiences - being monstered by the papers for years, doing his own thing regardless and (eventually) marrying the person he wanted to - are closest to what he’s gone through.

Why are we all getting involved and pretending to be bothered. This was an attack on a family they have fell out with, the same happen with Megan family and now Harry family. Are we suppose to get drawn in and decide who we believe.

This is trailer trash from Megan and Harry and should be dealt in private, it's like watching the neighbours have murder in the streets. Megan and Harry should move on with their lives,they are in a nice position, just enjoy your lives in the USA. Its pathetic, oh yeah someone was racist? Who was it? I'm not going to say, honestly what the point of that. Lol They are making deals with companies so they are well liked, just enjoy life and now Harry isolated him self from his brother and father. Hope both familes can sort this out.
