2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

He isn't showing enough to be an attacking option on left or right side and should be a number 8, alongside kdh also being the left side no.8.
Theres too much pressure on ndiaye to conjour up everything.
I really don't like the 4-2-3-1 formation due to our wingers staying far too wide.
And we've been doing that for far too long.
Needs to be centre mid

….thought it was a huge show of faith from the manager putting him on at a time when the game was really in the balance. Only a teenager but he’s earned the trust of Moyes, age not an issue just performance.
Big difference between performance and trust imo.

He trusts Armstrong on the wing to carry out very specific instructions, be cautious, be defensive. See also: McNeil. Less so Dibling or George. That doesn't mean he 'performs' better than either of them as a winger in any other context.

….its about game management, he’s clearly not an authentic wide player but he’s seen as more effective in wide areas at that particular point in the match. Indeed, Moyes has even started him out there.

The contrast is on the other flank where we have a genuine winger who contributes effectively, we obviously miss Grealish which is why the Manager is having to make do with what he has.

McNeil did fine yesterday, I assume he’ll start on Tuesday and it’s up to him to make the spot his. Signs are really good for Armstrong, I’d be certain he’ll be a key CM for us in seasons to come, the Manager clearly likes him.

Yep typical of Moyes really, which is not a criticism. I don’t understand why if he plays a teenager it’s somehow used as a vindication that somehow the structured , well organised Moyes has suddenly become a radical inventive coach just bursting to bring on youngsters at every opportunity. Let’s concentrate on Armstrong not Moyes in this thread.

Harrison Armstrong comes on to close a game out which we win and it’s still an opportunity to criticise Moyes. I honestly don’t know how you Moyes Derangement Types find the energy.

With Armstrong excised from the side, Barry replaced by Beto, and McNeil in ahead of George, any pretence of developing young players has been cast off.

The Moyesiah likes his men. Senior pros. Meat and potatoes. What's Tomas Soucek up to come summer?
I agree with you, thought it was mad when I saw the team news.
And then we won, and what a great win it was.

We are still right, though!
