2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

I think he played well today (was knackered at the end) but would still benefit from a loan back to Preston as he isn't at the level of a Garner, KDH or Gana.
He's better in my eyes than Tim and a different profile to Alcaraz. I'd have him, Garner, and KDH as the starting 3. Gana if we're needing to get defensive, Alcaraz if we're chasing something.

He'll probably end up back at Preston, though.

I think he's done well to come in as he has and not look out of place at all and even probably one of the better players amongst the dross. Kind of would want him to keep the position when others come back because he'd surely improve more with our better players around him compared to now.

I think if he had better ball players around him such as Dewsbury Hall, Garner and Grealish his quality would be standing out more than he showed today. That’s not a criticism as I thought he stood out amongst a lot of mediocrity.
The back 4 and even Pickford have got no bravery at all ,
Every ball is back and square, Pickford boots it long every time. Harrison and he wasn’t the only one, would try and find space 30 yards further up and yet never got the ball

Not his best performance in the first half , picked up a lot in second half . I love this kid and his talent , so I now look at him more critically in a “ how can he improve” manner. At times he wasn’t moving towards the guy with the ball like he usually does , one of his strengths is that he often does this to help another player out . He looked like he was pacing himself , maybe DM had said “ you’ll play 90 mins, maybe 120 pace yourself throughout”
Twice he got himself in a position to shoot at goal , possibly the most of any of our players, both went over . Shooting and scoring is not a strength of his , surprising really with his talent , do something to work on . No doubt the best is still to come from him.

One thing that's quite noticeable is just how one footed he is for a central midfielder. He's not at McNeil levels of avoiding his weaker foot but it does limit him in moments.

….terrific energy, watched him in a summer tournament for England and he was the only one still going strong in the last 10mins despite the heat.

He’s done himself no harm in these two games and I’d actually say he could’ve put himself ahead of Rohl in the midfield pecking order. Telling that the 18yo started the game and was still on the pitch at the end.

Delighted for him, he looks a player who’s only going to get better.

I watched him at a Preston game in nov/dec and he was the best player on the pitch without ripping it up. He did fine today, he has a lot of headroom to move into but for me, Tim Iroegbunam is (just) ahead of him at the moment. Hopefully, in a few weeks, we will be getting players back so HA can go back to Preston for the rest of the season and on his return he'll be a starter for us.

Would love to see him kept here for the rest of the season. When everyone's fit/available it's a position we're quite well stocked in but he can certainly challenge for a starting spot. Different to anyone else we've got in the middle of the park.
