2024/25 Harrison Armstrong

Not like you , I’d have thought you’d have gone for Harro or Armo.

Use of “ Harrison” I take as a term of affection for a young player we like and are pleased with .
I haven’t checked his thread, if he still has one, but the opposite is Maupay , I doubt if anybody calls him “ Neal”

…not keen on using first names or nicknames for players, something I associate with Koppites.

Saying that, I’m sure I’ve called this lad ‘Harrison’ a few times but only because I get confused with him having 2 surnames. Hopefully he’s a player but he’ll always be Armstrong for me.

Sorry mate you're right, error on my behalf the equivalent of 27 games instead of mins - that's my mistake - apologies. ;)

So the equivalent of 17 and 27 games respectively - yeah ignore me!

Shut up @Neiler!
No no no, it doesn’t work like that here, if you’re incorrect about something, double down on it - don’t acknowledge and apologise.

Pfft what’s happening to this place.

Hes just gone on 18, hes very young, i think its incredible hes starting games in the Championship at his age.

Would 100% send him out on loan and let him play a full season n the Championship - invaluable.

He wont get the mins he needs to develop here.

We had arguably one of the greatest players England has ever produced in Rooney here under Moyes at the same age and he still didn't get a regular game.
He might actually play next season. Considering the potential outgoings, it is very likely. I WOULD be fine with sending him on another loan if we fill the team vacancies, but I lean more on the side of giving him a fair go next season. See where he is at in training camp and preseason then decide.

I think we should call him Harry, cos then if he fulfils his promise we can sing Harry Armstrong walks on water. I am desperate to see us revive that old Bob Latchford chant before my furred and choked arteries finally slam the door shut and my ticker explodes ;)

Its very good to hear that he has done so well on his loan this season and hopefully will come into our first team in August. With so many departing it will be great to have a player who has come up through the club starting what will hopefully be a very good career as a first team regular.

Think you have the wrong of it mate.

In his first season he averaged 17 mins per league game.

In his second he averaged 27 mins per league game.

I dont need to tell anyone most would have lived through it.

Rooney was one of the best the country ever produced at that age - like i said wasn't guaranteed starts or mins, so id suggest Harrison wont either.

I haven't had a look at the numbesr but going from memory i remember there was some annoyance about the lack of mins Barkley was getting toward the tail end of Moyes first stint here as well.
Yeah remember pulling my hair out with Moyes at the time giving him 15/20 mins here and there and the lad was going to England games and playing the full 90. Listen Moyes did well by Rooney, Sir Alex took our boy! I still cringe with BK reaction.

That’s my memory to mate. When you think back we didn’t get the best out of him.

Was the day my football cynicism was born the day we sold Wayne.

I agree, another loan for a full season will do the lad wonders, either Championship or a top division European league maybe a team playing in a UEFA competition like we did with Branthwaite.
