2024/25 Harrison Armstrong

A good experience for a seventeen year old but difficult for a young lad to do well in a struggling team.

I honestly think was told to just 'go out there and do your best". Looked like he was given no particular role as him and Mangala (who I thought done ok) weren't aware where each other were supposed to be during out of possession transitions.

It's tough out there for a young lad when the mood and atmosphere is as on-edge as it is right now.

Thought he started well but then about 35 minutes in he controlled the ball facing Virginia and then a bad touch took the ball away from him and he was dispossessed. I thought he didn't recover mentally from that and then went missing for the rest of the match bar the slide tackle he made in the second half just before he went off.

Harsh assessment for a 17 year old lad, I know, but I just think with some more leaders around him he'd have recovered from losing the ball and his confidence wouldn't have been affected. Hopefully he goes out on loan in January, should do him good going out to somewhere in League 2 maybe? Even if he hardly plays, just being in and around it full time will hopefully put a few hairs on his chest.

Looked out of his depth tbh, barely got on the ball and didn’t look like he knew what he was meant to be doing out of possession. Their midfield had all the time in the world under no pressure. Looked like a dear in headlights.

Don’t think he was helped playing next to Mangala who was also invisible and meant to be the senior player, the pair of them got dominated. Doubt he got much prep or instruction from Dyche, just chucked that team together and left the young lad to it, bald prick.

….lad looked out of his depth and i was a bit disappointed tbh. I agree it wasn’t ideal to have another debutant alongside.

I understand the physical comparisons with Wharton but that’s where the similarity ends. He’s clearly a talented young footballer but the leap into PL is massive, let’s hope he can make it at some stage.
