Were not allowed to celebrate St George's day, we may upset the millions of visitors to our fair nation.

Spot on Ghost! We are being racist when we celebrate our day, the only country worldwide who seems to be a victim when patriotism is shown. I dont celebrate St Patricks day because im not Irish, i dont support St Georges Day because i am not allowed to, so many say. :@

Steevie, who on earth has stopped you and others organising a festival to celebrate your identity?

I think it's the case that enough people aren't arsed about it rather than censoring themselves to avoid being viewed as racist.

They're not visitors they're British. And I think you'll find you can celebrate St Whatsisnames Day. It's next month some time isn't it?

and be branded a racist etc etc etc. as an Englishman i am denied my identity, being bracketed with other nationalities under the banner of British. i demand the right to put English on any forms i have to fill in, otherwise i will tick the box that states i do not wish to disclose my ethnicity whenever possible.
in n.z. i was expected to tick "pakeha" which is maori and widely believed to mean "white pig". i point blank refused, when reffered to as a pakeha i raised stroong objections every time.
anyway this is getting political i suppose so no more of that cos at the end of the day we all love pasties and recognise the fact that if you put pineapple on a pizza then you dont really know jack about anythin:D

No one celebrated St Patricks Day in England not so long ago but like Ghost said, its just another lame excuse to get pissed. We are being stopped by the thousands of imigrants that have flooded into this country who seem to have more rights and privileges than those born and bred in England.

Petition to: urgently request of the Office of National Statistics (ONS) that it amends the proposed 2011 census form by providing a tick-box for those who want to record their identity as English. The proposed census form finds room for such a tick-

It's certainly been colonised by commercial forces in the boom economy years. I suspect we'll see a slackening off now in the OTT celebrations.

That's just perception, though. I doubt there's a force that would or could intervene to stop a St George's day March/festival if so organised.

We have trouble flying the George Cross in this country, even though that is the official flag of England ffs. I bet there is no such problems when the Irish, Welsh or Scottish fly the nations flags is there??

i saw a car in leigh the other day with loads of stuff about welsh nationalism on it, "owen of glendower, one day he will return" sticks in my memory, the rest were anti-english on it as well. ffs if i had one pertaining to firebombing mosques i'd be hauled in locked up and my motor crushed, it's gonna get the 'arl nitromorse next time i go near it

Thats the way this country has gone mate. You always have to be careful what you say these days because everything is so politically correct. Those born here seem to have had there identity taken away from them and freedom of speech remove from our voiceboxes. Quite simply, this country is on its arse.

Post of the millenium.

There is absolutely no-one stopping them except themselves. The bottom line is that they prefer to moan about it than do something about it.

I repeat, there is NO-ONE stopping you from doing all that English and proud whopperism.

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;
Or close the wall up with our English dead.
In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility:
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage;
Then lend the eye a terrible aspect;
Let pry through the portage of the head
Like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it
As fearfully as doth a galled rock
O'erhang and jutty his confounded base,
Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean.
Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide,
Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit
To his full height. On, on, you noblest English.
Whose blood is fet from fathers of war-proof!
Fathers that, like so many Alexanders,
Have in these parts from morn till even fought
And sheathed their swords for lack of argument:
Dishonour not your mothers; now attest
That those whom you call'd fathers did beget you.
Be copy now to men of grosser blood,
And teach them how to war. And you, good yeoman,
Whose limbs were made in England, show us here
The mettle of your pasture; let us swear
That you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not;
For there is none of you so mean and base,
That hath not noble lustre in your eyes.
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

That's what I wanted to say, but I didn't want to offend the local Yeomanry.

As you say, it's easy to complain about plastic paddies day and how you feel like an alien in your *own* land under the cosh from Sharia Law than it is to organise a festival and get down the council or wherever to sort a parade out.

Anyway, they still have the 12th of July, what are they ******* moaning about?

And like i said chico, no one can can stop us but do you enjoy having people point fingers in your direction labelling you a racist? We cannot fly the George Cross without someone or another complaining about it, FACT! I am proud to be English and i am not ashamed of showing patriotism towards my country, but the last thing i want is for someone to mock my pride and feelings towards a country in which i was born. I am not a racist, never have been and never will be but we has a country are now been dictated and overun by immigrants who have more rights than those born over here. I am affraid that is the harsh reallity my friend.
