….I’m a huge fan. I appreciate he’s actually a poor striker of a football and he misses sitters but just look at the number of times he gets on the end of things, just look at the times he gets in behind defenders, just look at the times he gets beyond the main striker.

He must be an absolute nightmare to play against, rapid but a strength that belies his frame.

Foden is fantastic, but Sterling’s involvement was much more. He fluffs his lines but he continues to be a threat, that’s why you notice him lots. Missing sitters but 13 in 17 games for England from a wide position reflects his worth.

To be fair that’s a very good point you make on noticing him a lot. Personally I do prefer that as opposed to being a passenger, especially when you’ve seen us play from about March onwards. At the same time though, I thought he seemed low on confidence and would take an extra touch and the attack would break up which he wasn’t doing up until around this season, where he seemed to be much more effective with what he did. That said, he did make a good run for the goal and win the game in the end. Something that can do him the world of good

I don't think any England defenders have that kind of thuggery in them .

You'd think being an international manager would be a lot easier than a club manager as you've basically got a squad ready made for you out of the best available talent from that country, you just have to pick the best player for each position yet Southgate proves it's actually a difficult task

England have a genuine chance of winning this whole thing. You don't need a great team to win the Euros. Pony teams like Greece and Denmark have won it in the past and this current England is FAR superior to the Portugal 2016 team that won it. I don't understand why a lot of people keep underestimating England.

England have a genuine chance of winning this whole thing. You don't need a great team to win the Euros. Pony teams like Greece and Denmark have won it in the past and this current England is FAR superior to the Portugal 2016 team that won it. I don't understand why a lot of people keep underestimating England.
