Kane will be in the starting lineup based on his reputation, rather than form or fitness. Southgate doesn't have the balls to leave out a famous name, nor the brains to realise he should.

This has been the problem for generations now and I can only assume that the powers that be are putting sponsorships ahead of the good of the team.
Didn’t Kane and Southgate recently do a press conference talking up the sponsors?
But I think the issue is greater than just Kane. Every tournament we ultimately get beaten in the same manner, we attack and attack with no ideas how to break down the oppositions defense and then get hit on the counter.

I think England fans need to be careful about going way over the top. It was a turgid and poor performance. But this team has come back from those in the past. Baying for players to be dropped and others to be picked is over the top IMO.

England havnt played well in a long long time. Int football is full of minnows which England play repeatedly and beat but soon as a tournament starts they fold. Second we play a half decent team we are out

Regardless he still looked unfit which isn't a luxury you can afford in international football, even playing supposed lesser teams.
