England’s problem is the fact they think they are one of the best teams around. Once they accept they are not the team they and the media talk them up to be then they will be able to play with less pressure and more freedom.

Agree with what you say mate, its the total media thing thats gets to players I think. I really dont think the players think they are world beaters and also a lot of fans I talk to dont. With England its expected that they play well but with Wales and Scotland the fans and media want them to do well and this transfers to the players. btw, you're not on ignore - yet

But why is it expected ? That’s my point. England have not won a tournament since 66 so where does this unrealistic expectancy come from ? And that’s not a dig by the way, it’s a genuine question.

Went to world cup 2006. Missed the first game, played 2nd( got subbed) and last game of group. Got sent off in 4th game vPortugal iirc

Look at the England squad, then ask yourself which of the players are the best player at their club. Its a very short list.

Being good in the prem is not a ticket to being the best in Europe, but many dont join those dots up.
