GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Here's a question for debate, who would you guys consider the best imports to American Wrestling (WWE/WCW/WCCW/TNA etc)? By that I mean wrestlers who were not born in North America (USA and Canada)

For me it would be Dynamite Kid or Chris Adams, two of the finest technical wrestlers to come from our shores. Dynamite revolutionised a high flying but technical style of wrestling while Adams among other things helped train one of the biggest stars in the industry in Steve Austin

Hi Guyz! What's going down?? WOOO! Yeah! I'm from Barnsley but I'm a wrestling enthusiast so I use loads of American words like my heroes.

I might be thirty seven years of age and REALLY into my wrestling but that's no hang up for me. WOOO! It's the most exciting sports entertainment going as I leap off my sofa at 2am to appreciate a full DDT from one of my heroes. Yeah! It always gets me angry when people try to sneer at a fully grown man being so into other fully grown men wearing skimpy lycra trunks, all oiled up and grappling each other but that's because they're snobs and have never watched this prime source of entertainment.

My favourite of all time was The Ultimate Warrior. He DA MAN! He started the whole thing going with the early Wrestlemanias. Him and Hulk's hatred was DA REAL THING. No play acting there man. Over the years I've grown my hair long and regularly get it crimped so it's almost identical to the Ultimate Warrior. I have his exact trunk and oil based face paint. Let me tell you if you want to feel all man then there's no better way to spend your weekends imitating him. WOO!

Anyway, you douches probably prefer sissy sports like soccer and golf. LOL. But do yourself a favour and start watching a real man's sport with highly trained athletes competing in the toughest arena of them all.

This is so not for lads of ten and under. That's just CRAZY. Wrestling is the future FACT.

Great Muta or British Bulldog for me

They maybe weren't as good a pair of wrestlers as Dynamite, but they both drew more money and were none too shabby between the ropes

Bulldog will always have the Summer Slam 92 crowd to draw from

Oh come on deathbyropeandglass! I've watched TNA since about 2003 and you can't get away from the fact that its a poor man's WCW. I liked it at first, in fact I really liked it around 2005-08 but then it all went down hill. Hulk Hogen and Bischoff have destroyed it. Dixie Carter is the stupidest woman in the biz (I still can't believe that she ok'd the removal of the six sided ring!) as I've said before. In the words of Paul Hayman "TNA serves far to many masters". They can't use Christopher Daniels for anything other then a j syles. They ruined both Robert Rudes initial push (ok they gave him the title but he should of beaten Angle for it!) And have wasted so much time on crap like Brooke Hogen for god sake! And worst of all jeff jerret will show up at some point like a bad smell. Best quote regarding Jerret "he broke six thousand guitars a year, never drew a cent but he thought he was the man!" Wwe gets by on its name and has for many years now but TNA never used this time, they could never be "better" then the wwe due to buget so they should of made themselves diffrent (and they were until a few years ago). Now, all that being said however I'm still iooking forward to Slammiversary on sunday, it looks a good card but for the Sting v Bully Ray title Match.

I still think TNA is entertaining than the Dross WWE show now.

It does not feel quite as family PG-13 friendly as WWE, a little more reminiscent of the Attitude times.

OverKill, yes TNA is currently better then WWE but I think that's down to the fact that WWE is awful at the moment and have been for years, yet TNA have wasted chance after chance after chance to improve the product! TNA needs to except the fact they can't compete with WWE and try to be diffrent. How can they do this? Adult storylines, more young stars and less focus on the old guys like Hogen. Go back to the six sided Ring, get rid of wwe rejects like Matt Morgan and push independent talent. They need to stop trying to be WWE cos they will always lose that war. I'd love TNA to compete as competition is good for the biz but they will NEVER compete with the current mangement setup. As I said before they are like wcw 1999-2001 with all the sharks destroying what could be great.

Just back from 2 nights of great live wrestling in Preston, for the Preston City Wrestling Supershows. Some great matches featuring the best of British talent and some top imports too, including the Steiners Brothers, Lita, Goldust, Shelton Benjamin and Chris Masters. Just thought I'd share some photos:

The Steiner Brothers!

Am I right, BoysinBlue, in seeing on Twitter that the Steiners and Doug Williams won PCW's main belts at the show last night?

They did, although the Steiners lost the belts tonight to Rampage Brown & T-Bone, in a 3 way that also involved Fight Club.
Willliams is still PCW champion though, beat Joey Hayes tonight, and will defend against Noam Dar in a 60 minute iron man match on August 2nd.

Bulldog was miles ahead of Muta in terms or impact in the states i'd say. Must have been around for about 15 years where he was regularly flitted between the mid card and main events. Muta had a good little run in NWA in the late 80's and at various times in the 90's but never reached the level that the Bulldog did. Shame really cause it was such a great gimmick and a great wrestler.

There were a few Japanese guys who had a little bit of success in the states but none of them ever really took off as much as their talent deserved.

Talking of one, Jushin Liger has a little profile up on WWE.com right now featuring some of his matches. I know its highly unlikely but i'd love it if he could come in for a 1 off match in WWE before he retires. Just get Jericho to bust out his Super Liger costume again and you're sorted.
