Does anyone else think smackdown could do with being re-branded? Its always been treated like the "b show" but there was a period from mid 2003 to early 05 were it was much MUCH better then raw. I don't understand why wwe can't see the potential to have Raw with Super Cena for the kids and a smackdown (called somthing else) for your older fan base. Ten years ago I'd of sujested a wcw brand but that ship has long sailed. So what do you think? Does smackdown need a shake up or is it fine as it is?

Watched that Bret Hart bit. Thanks for posting mate.

Something still doesn't sit right with me when Vince and Bret talk. Still feels forced and not real. Same, but to a lesser extent, with Michaels.

Ijjysmith, I don't think Bret Hart will EVER truly forgive Vince or Michels for what they did to him. I think he just wants to get past hating them so the hatred can stop eating away at him. When he hugged Sawn it felt like it was a wrestling promo for tv. I think Bret wants to be remembered for the good times and not just the "screw job" and he deserves that at least.

I think that's a good idea actually.

To be fair, they kind of do that already with NXT.

Would love them to do it on a grander scale with Smackdown though

Back in 2002 when Heyman was booking it, Smackdown may have been the greatest wrestling television show ever

Excellent wrestling from the "Smackdown Six" (Kurt ANgle, Mysterio, Edge, Eddie, Benoit and Chavo)

Crusierweights with personalities getting pushed (Jamie Noble, Tajiri, Matt Hardy)

Brock Lesnar killing folk

Great time to be a wrestling fan!

You don't have to go back that far to find the last time Smackdown we're (WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY) better than Raw. You don't have to go further back than to when The Undertaker we're active in 07/08. They put on some absolutely brilliant shows back then.

Edit: SD also had a pretty decent roster in 2009.

SuperTimCahill, I don't think Smackdown was that great then. It was just that Raw was even more awful then normal. I thought the early days of the brand extention were top class, as both rosters were just for there own shows so could look forward to raw one group. Then on Smackdown you had another group doing somthing real diffrent with an altogether diffrent feel. The times they meet on p-p-v was cool interaction and the draft lottory was good then. It was also good to see heels and faces from the same show helping each other to beat the other brand as it had a reailty feel to it.

Plus what is the point in having two world champions any more? Back then there was a point as they hardly ever meet but now the Smackdown champ is on raw all the time ergo the "other world title" feels less inportant. We always knew wwe rated the Raw title more, just don't like them making it obvious to everyone.

Watched TNA last night. Better than most RAWs in the past few weeks.

YES! Nice to see a positive mention for TNA on here rather than all the kopite WWE fan boys saying its crap :P

Its gone downhill a bit since the Aces and Eights stuff started to drag but its still usually a better wrestling show than Raw. Has its fair share of crap of course but what wrestling show doesn't.

Oh come on deathbyropeandglass! I've watched TNA since about 2003 and you can't get away from the fact that its a poor man's WCW. I liked it at first, in fact I really liked it around 2005-08 but then it all went down hill. Hulk Hogen and Bischoff have destroyed it. Dixie Carter is the stupidest woman in the biz (I still can't believe that she ok'd the removal of the six sided ring!) as I've said before. In the words of Paul Hayman "TNA serves far to many masters". They can't use Christopher Daniels for anything other then a j syles. They ruined both Robert Rudes initial push (ok they gave him the title but he should of beaten Angle for it!) And have wasted so much time on crap like Brooke Hogen for god sake! And worst of all jeff jerret will show up at some point like a bad smell. Best quote regarding Jerret "he broke six thousand guitars a year, never drew a cent but he thought he was the man!" Wwe gets by on its name and has for many years now but TNA never used this time, they could never be "better" then the wwe due to buget so they should of made themselves diffrent (and they were until a few years ago). Now, all that being said however I'm still iooking forward to Slammiversary on sunday, it looks a good card but for the Sting v Bully Ray title Match.
