Cena to win Rumble, Rock to beat Punk, Cena to beat Rock at Wrestlemania to regain the title, pass on the torch blah blah blah. Probably the most predictable thing ever and I would be amazed if anything other than this happened.

This all day.

To my utter annoyance...

The only other thing I can even vaguely imagine happening (although very unlikely) is Lesnar wins the Rumble, beats Rock at Wrestlemania (probably controversially) and then Cena wins the belt off Lesnar a bit further down the line. This would leave Cena free to fight Undertaker at Wrestlemania.

First scenario is far more likely though with Punk fighting Undertaker at Mania.

Rock vs Cena II will happen at Wrestlemania, simply because so many people bought it last year. It was the main event of the most watched/bought wrestling pay-per-view in history. To not do a re-match would just be crazy.

Latest info on Punk:

Punk had been working with right knee problems that had been gradually worsening, with the knee locking up due to meniscus damage. Through arthroscopic surgery, Dr. James Andrews, considered the leading doctor in the country for top level athletes and the WWE’s go-to guy for its top talent, cut out some loose cartilage that was causing his knee to lock up. The cartilage was trapped between his femur and tibia.

According to WWE officials, his recuperation time will depend on how well he progresses while rehabbing the knee, but he is not expected to be out of action longer than a few weeks. The unofficial estimate from a few people close to the situation was around three weeks, but that was just a guess and a better time frame is expected to be released within a few days.

The scheduled Punk vs. The Rock WWE championship match at the Royal Rumble is not in jeopardy.

The knee problem was noticeable in some recent matches when you could see some awkwardness and pain when he used his knee to post when trying to get up from the ground, and in another match, had a noticeable limp for a brief period of time. But for the most part, he’s been gutting through it without any outward sign of problems, and has been carrying the Raw television shows.

Same mate.

I've been working from home most of this week and had all my old wrestling DVD's on. I can't beleive how better wrestling was only 8 years ago.

And Rock Cena 2 isn't news is it?

It's so obvious.

Wrestling is obvious at the minute. It's winding me up.

No it wouldn't. There's a massive problem with the Cena/Rock rematch - the winner is pre-defined. Cena won't job to Rock twice. The other problem is that Cena is not going to turn heel to do it, which will mean that the "biggest face in the company" will be booed to oblivion upon his inevitable title win on the biggest stage of them all; an obvious own goal for the company.

People bought the last WM for The Rock, not for Cena. The bigger draw would be The Rock vs. The Undertaker. That'd be a blockbuster.

This.

Tubey we need to have more wrestling chats.

Exactly, I remember watching Mania' and my two mates were convinced Cena would win - I explained that The Rock wouldn't return to lose and they just couldn't understand it.

Austin / Punk is one I really want to see.

They built the Cena Rock match really rather well last year. (Mind you they had an entire effing year to do it in). I'm The Rock's biggest fan but they even had me doubting it for a while. Was out of my seat when he won. It was like a win for wrestling that.

As for Austin Punk. I'm not convinced. The build up would be exceptional. Loads of brilliant spots between the two but the actual match may well be terrible. Austin is not capable of a great match anymore I'd guess and it'd be a shame for him to look pathetic in the ring when he was so awesome.

Tough one.

Wouldn't imagine so.

It's quite hard to see Rock coming back and losing ever.

Thats the huge issue with rock. He cant stay in WWE for long, so he cant win titles etc, and they are the matches that the Rock is interested in...but the fans think he is this hero and needs to win everything...

...So its going to end up getting screwed up somehow - Im surprised they wasted Cenas MITB contract - as that would have been the perfect get out, Rock beats Punk, Cena beats Rock instantly to win the title.

The Rock should lose as much as possible whilst still keeping his star aura.

As long as its done right Rock should be used to put people over and make new stars so they can repeat the process.

Of course Cena doesn't need the rub but even he doesn't need to be the guy who lost 2 straight WM main events to the same guy.

Well, if he faces Cena, he's going to job to him isn't he? Rock's never really had a problem jobbing. Anyone else remember this match (can't believe it was nearly 10 years ago!)?

That was when he'd left to start doing movies too, and only came back for the first part of 2003.

There's no point doing Rock vs Cena II if Rock beats him again. It makes no sense for him to win, then leave. Then again, on paper it made no sense for Rock to win at WM28 either. So who knows! Wrestling isn't always logical lol.
