Had a hill climb race on Thursday. Fast as you can up a 800m hill. Not really what I'm training for but a nice bit of fun. Some guy did it on a unicycle, which is pretty mental.

Those spectators are defo looking at your arse mate.

That sounds quite grueling though, how did you get on?

The weirdo behind you in jeans and bike helmet but no bike was laughing at you pal, should have got off and given him a quick jab!

Couldn't walk at the end mate, let alone punch anyone :)

Hah not surprised, from the look on your face there I can tell how much hard work it looks!

Cycling has always been something I've been interested in doing but apart from casual stuff and fitness for other sports never gave it a go, maybe in a few years, it clashes time-wise with cricket and football in that they run competitions on the same day.

Aye, I was more of a swimmer as a youngster. Think when people give it a go though they get hooked pretty quickly.

I'm quite into traveling around and seeing the scenery too, and over here you'd never get bored with where you're cycling, some of the most breathtaking views. I've biked up to our local ski field on the volcano numerous times, about 1300 metres up (I'm situated 300 metres above sea level). Bit of a distance but well worth the view across the whole North Island at the end. Plus the 90 minute ride takes only 10 minutes to get home

Right. In less than two weeks I'm going to be going on holiday, so I need to get myself in good shape a shape possible for the beach obv.

Gym at least 5 times a week and 2 protein shakes every day should see to that, I've even got the dumbells out at home and doing a little bit here and there.

All junky snack food has to be cut out (crisps, cakes and biscuits are my vices) and replaced with nuts, fruit and chicken.

I'm not going to enjoy this.

Ive been to the gym twice in two weeks due to travels and can see me putting podge on already. Just ordered loads of healthy stuff off Tesco and will uber train this week like.
