Dutch mate gutted to hear your taking leave and wish i could understand the reasons why - just dont see it mate. Anyway the place will be poorer without you and hope to see you back soon.
I will be honest though - and this isnt a dig at anybody specifically Dutch, who admire i alot - this place is bigger then any one poster - some very established posters have been banned in the past, or decided not to post for a while and this place has and will always adjust and get on ok. Their is a tone and atmosphere set here, which is based on good humour, friendliness and banter. Its what draws everyone to the site.
Occasionaly people break the rules and that what infractions are for a gentle reminder to keep within the tone, respect and atmosphere that makes the forum a success. Sometimes people go to far and despite the gentle reminder absolutley take the mick out of the forum rules or continously flout warnings - generally these people are banned which i feel is right.
Trust me none of the admin or mods want to give up their spare time dishing out infractions or banning people, beleive it or not its actually more hassle then not. But most of the team have a strong sense of how, why, when and where G.O.T. was established and that sets clear objectives of what the forum tries to be: a sound forum. I think thats done in the main well.
As for Az(bot) i banned him for no other reason then he was permentenly banned on so many different occasions and those bans were permenent. I liked Azbot and had a bit of banter with him and beleive it or not, after every banning i PM'd him telling him to keep his down and just post within the rules, he ignored this and all the infractions he was given - its a no brainer really. His banning this week was based on the fact he was banned permentently before, if we begin applying the rules based on the fact that some people like a certain perosn, its quite likely another half of the forum wont and that will lead to inequity and a confusion in the sense of boundry of the forum and the atmosphere we try to create.
Like i say im genuinely sorry Dutch mate that you feel you have no choice, i consider you a good mate and one of my favourate posters. But like i say this place is and rightly so, bigger then any of us. Hopefully we will see you soon.
