have you read what’s happened ? Even @peteblue accepts the situation warranted looking at . Nobody is in the offended at everything brigade , a noose and it’s accepted it’s a noose , was tied on the rope to open the door and it’s been found to be the only one On any garage door within the sport . That’s worthy of further examination and certainly isn’t something to be ignored or dismissed as if it’s someone complaining about the word blackboard or coco pops

I think you just agreed with me. The latest photo is undoubtably a noose, the earlier ones weren’t, the FBI were supposed to have investigated it, someone is playing silly buggers.....

If the new picture is real and correct, there is no issue. I’d be interested in what pictures the FBI took and of what garage. Someone is covering their back here, NASCAR or FBI......

I see that the Seattle ‘Chop Zone’ has had yet another shooting incident. This time a black 16 year old teenager and a 14 year old were shot dead by the ‘Chop’ security. Who needs Police when you can kill kids yourself.....the Authorities should be ashamed of themselves and the Mayor and Police Chief should be relieved of post for allowing this to happen.....BLM...

I would hate to be living in that area and the deaths are awful.

However don’t think that anything other than negotiation is going to improve matters. Lots more deaths are likely if cops go in guns blazing and the disaster at the Waco siege appears to have significantly hanged how authorities deal with these situations.

I agree that negotiation is the way out but I don’t think the Police or the Mayor should have any involvement. They are the reason this has happened. Federal Government Negotiators backed up by the threat of the Army should sort this out, and quickly, before it really gets out of hand.....

No Pete, the feds taking over and threats of the army storming in are in no way going to improve things please see my above reference about Waco.

I appreciate that and I was not advocating blasting their way in. The Mayor and Police have lost the plot and that’s why I suggested the Feds, as it needs someone not caught up in the local politics. The Police cannot be utilised in any way because they helped cause the problem. Therefore, and I‘m not suggesting surrounding the area with tanks, the only force that could be used if negotiations broke down would ultimately be the Army. Now unless the guys with the guns intend to fight to the last bullet, which I would very much doubt, and certainly not against the Army, and they are not a death seeking cult or jihadists then knowing an ultimate force can and will be used will undoubtedly aid the negotiations.....but we all do things differently.......

If you were to assume that use of the local police/local politicians would inflame things then you’d use the national guard during the negotiations and have it under control of the governor so keep it at least at the state level rather than the escalation of federal involvement.

Either way, it still needs to be done. There will be people in there who are too frightened to speak out or even go out.....

But I don’t see what using threats of armed force, whoever comprise the armed force, do to improve the situation one bit Pete.

I also think you underestimate how many shootings happen in a regular day in the USA - I sadly doubt that the deaths in the CHOP area are statistically different from what would have been expected under more ”normal” conditions.
