No one is covering anything up. It’s a noose. EVERYONE agreed. It was reported when found. NASCAR got the FBI involved. The fbi investigated and found evidence that it had been there since 2019 and so wasn’t directed at bubba Wallace.
I don’t think anyone can deny that it was serious enough to investigate having seen the pic. And I think everyone can be pleased it wasn’t racially motivated.
No cover up. Some wasted time but worth it given the context.

I don’t disagree with anything you’ve said and my post was my making your point , admittedly without capitalisation , to another poster in my admittedly polite oft overly polite manner . So perhaps that’s been lost in translation , I was simply trying to lay out that the photograph was , as far was aware genuine (I was unaware it was on the NASCAR site ) and was being reported by the media as such and that the organisation would have nothing to gain by the posting of a photo that wasn’t genuine .

I was agreeing with you. I used EVERYONE for effect. Because it’s impossible to deny. And that anyone saying it was anything but genuine was being ridiculous.

sorry if you thought it was a rebuttal. I was making the point that no one involved has denied it was a noose or that the picture was genuine.

There were other example shown of what a pulley looks like but this wasn’t the FBI or NASCAR getting confused. They both saw the noose and decided it was enough evidence to investigate.

The investigation found it was put there long before bubba. So it wasn’t directed at him. It’s still highly questionable but wasn’t an attack on the driver.

He didnt report it. Plus apparently it was put there in 2019, not years ago.

What's not right is the fact given the testimony of eye witnesses and a bloody picture you still don't see it.

What do you need to be convinced that it may actually be in bad taste and in fact a noose?

Should they hang someone from it to see if it works will that satisfy you.

Anyway even in that picture it looks a bit noose like and it is definitely not the normal knot used in pulley cords on garages. If that's their method its unusual.

Let's put it this way. If it's a coincidence that was there, it's one hell of a coincidence.

Nobody in their right mind could accuse him of being irrational by identifying that as a hate crime.

That said, after Jussie Smollett, I actually don't blame anyone for thinking it was a hoax either.

Basically the whole spectrum of opinion is valid for this one.

Ah, the way I read it, or at least from glancing at the BBC, it was framed as him having seen it, not his pit crew.

It doesn’t diminish the point though that people are obviously a bit jumpy about the general atmosphere around the sport and something that would probably be dismissed at any other time can take on a sinister appearance as a result.

I’m glad they investigated it as it was warranted.
Also glad about the show of unity that happened because of it all.
I don’t believe anyone made a mistake to be honest. I think it was rational to assume it was a racist act in the circumstances. Luckily it wasn’t. but these things need to be taken as seriously as they were in this case. Investigating and finding nothing wrong is the lesser of two evils.

So far as I can see NASCAR handled this in an exemplary manner and their matter-of-fact approach to a possibly racist gesture impressed me. Please take notice, NFL.

Ed Mullins is the guy doing these tweets and he is a scumbag.

He actually posted De Blasio's daughters arrest record on twitter. She was picked up on a minor thing and he used the record as fuel to post angry hateful tweets against de Blasio.

He has a track record of this sort of stuff and not just with de blasio. Anytime someone in office pees him off this is what he resorts too. I am amazed the powers that be in the NYPD don't push to have him ousted. Twitter keep removing the offensive stuff.

De Blasio is terrible but them resorting to this is a disgrace.
