It's really stupid to burn down Wendy's, not just because I like Wendy's either (when are they going to come to the UK!) but it seems some officers just seem to have nothing going on upstairs. I mean you would surely think, best not to shoot someone running the other way? Really really dumb in the context we are in.
coming from you??? Good lord the hypocrisyAre you a judge ?

Apparently he pointed the taser he had just stolen from police at one of the officers.
TBF the murders later shown in the film Mississippi Burning couldn’t have happened without active engagement from local law enforcement.
Going back to civil rights era ...George Wallace governor of Alabama was not removed from office when JFK sent in troops
Ah ok. Was he running away when they shot him?
I mean I'm not saying don't arrest the guy, don't use force, don't prosecute. But in this context, shooting someone, without a gun, who is running away seems like a massive tactical mistake at this point.
I'd add, this is probably the issue as well. I mean it will be framed, understandably as a racist act that fits into the context of longer term structural oppression. However it may just be officers who are simply not prepared to break with bad habits. If I'm a police chief, I understand policing by consent is essential, we need to start building bridges and this act is a gross misjudgement from the officer so he would be suspended without pay almost immediately. I do wonder if that competency line is being hammered home enough in American police forces?

But the police are always telling us that tazers are non-lethal. That's why they dont have to write up using them.
