They stole people from their homes. Crammed them into spaces no bigger than a coffin for 3 months. They were left to lie in their own waste. If they died they would be thrown overboard. Around 2m African men, women and children were thrown into the sea. It’s ok though. Slave owners didn’t have to pay for those lost. It was knocked off their bill. The slaves were the possession of their owners. Any children born into slavery were instant properly of the owner. It made sense to let slaves breed as it was more ‘productive’. So slave women were regularly raped because more free slaves was good for business. Slaves were inherited across generations.

I’m not sure what your definition of evil was mate but god help you if you don’t think that trade and anyone involved in it was evil. Irrespective of the time and custom.

They should go further, the pyramids were built by the use of slaves let's blow them up, the coliseum tear it down, great wall of China that's gone too, the profit Muhammad traded and owned slaves will any of these tugs tearing down statues be brave enough to go into a mosque and do similar damage.. slavery is a stain on human history, every people of every colour have endured slavery at some point even currently there are an estimated 18 million slaves in the world.. but I don't see what destroying artifacts of the past will achieve, we can't hold the people of the past to modern standers or morals.

I think that's the point he is making. At the time the actions were taking place, a slave was effectively property, goods to be traded.

If you approach the situation from that view then you are simply maximising profits by trading in the way they did - as abhorrent as that is to modern sensitivity.

The pyramids were not built by slaves. A renowned Egyptologist writing in a Harvard paper has unearthed the evidence. The bible and Cecil B De Mille used this for dramatic effect. Check out Harvard magazine.com

That's actually true - but not because of their genes or the colour of their skin, but because they are more socio-economically deprived as an ethic group in general and thus are more likely to be more likely to commit criminal activity.

Once you have a record of arrest it is much harder to get a regular job - making one mistake early in life can have huge repercussions on what opportunities are available to you.

African Americans are arrested, charged and jailed at much higher rates for things like drug possession with very little evidence that use is different across the population.
