That's horrible. We're so divided and everything seems so exacerbated, I really worry about the future. Of course I'm probably hyperbolic because of the last few days, but stuff is messed up
Same, but just remember that social media isn't necessarily real life. The huge majority of Americans mourn Floyd and loathe the extremists who would burn our cities and murder our citizens for the sake of radicalism. Those who want to divide us often have big voices (politicians, media, agitators, etc.) but there are more of the rest of us. I do think we have pretty fundamental cracks in the foundation of this country and I don't think long-term worries are misplaced. But for now I think there are still enough ties that bind.
This coming on the heels of COVID doesn't help. It's distorted the world for many of us, but things will be better.
