Saw a good point on twitter, imagine the reaction in the west if the Ayatollah had protesters teargassed so he can get his picture taken with a Quran outside a mosque. Well we know what those ever consistent, never hypocritical Americans would say.

Shout out to anyone on here who replies "All Lives Matter."

"All Lives" don't suffer racial discrimination like "Black Lives" do.

"All Lives Matter" was created as a direct response to "Black Lives Matter", in order to suppress the recognition of the racial inequality that exists.

If you say "All Lives Matter" within this debate about "Black Lives" and the ongoing racial discrimination they suffer, then I consider you to be ignorant or racist (or maybe both).

Black Lives Matter. Up the equality Toffees.
You are an absolute mushroom you attention seeking whinnet

Really informative article on the data and trends behind police killings, can recommend the who,e piece but these bits were particularly striking
But these numbers don’t tell the whole story. While the nationwide total of people killed by police nationwide has remained steady, the numbers have dropped significantly in America’s largest cities, likely due to reforms to use-of-force policies implemented in the wake of high-profile deaths. Those decreases, however, have been offset by increases in police killings in more suburban and rural areas. It seems that solutions that can reduce police killings exist, in other words — the issue may be whether an area has the political will to enact them.
...
Other reforms may be making a difference as well. Police shootings dropped in Philadelphia, San Francisco and Baltimore after the cities began reforming their use-of-force policies to match recommendations from the Department of Justice. In Chicago, police shootings dropped following protests over the shooting of Laquan McDonald and fell further after the city adopted more restrictive use-of-force policies and a new police accountability system. Denver also adopted more restrictive use-of-force policies in 2017, requiring de-escalation as an alternative to force. Los Angeles police shootings reportedly declined to the lowest number in 30 years in 2019, which officials attribute to new policies requiring officers to use de-escalation and alternatives to deadly force. Shootings dropped precipitously in Phoenix a year after public scrutiny led the department to evaluate its practices and implement changes to its use-of-force policy. And, in response to local protests over the 2012 killing of James Harper, Dallas implemented a range of policies to emphasize de-escalation, which local authorities credit with producing a sustained decline in police shootings.

This is absolutely bang on. Any idiot who posts “all lives matter” might as well be giving the middle finger to Black Lives Matter, and by extension might as well be saying “I’m fine with innocent people being marginalised and killed over their skin colour.

To spell it out - it’s BLACK LIVES MATTER, not ONLY BLACK LIVES MATTER. All lives CANNOT matter until black lives matter. While we still live in a world where POC are marginalised, criminalised, disenfranchised, and have to be afraid of being killed by a “police officer’s accident” with impunity, it’s not appropriate to say full stop.

Nobody needs to hear what James corden has to say though.

He should give that platform to an activist, or a person who suffers on a daily basis because of the colour of their skin. They’re the people we need to hear from right now.

That’s the problem. People are angry because they’re not being listened to and that’s still continuing.
As @DrEFC asked, listen to the message not the messenger. Corden has a platform to reach more people. An activist speaking would have people rolling their eyes, wrong I know. The message was excellent as was his band leader who followed and a very powerful rap to end it, listen to it all. He wants to be better educated on the matter and asked his audience to do the same.
