Pretty sure he's not allowed to appoint his family to actual proper positions, that's why they're special advisors etc.

Haley is a smart cookie - she's lining up a run in 2024. The inevitable firing from Trump wouldn't look good. She also needs the money from a private sector job.
I think he can pretty much appoint whoever he wants can't he, if he can get the votes to confirm?

Ivanka has ruled herself out though. Wise decision.

There are rules around nepotism and ambassador roles (although not exclusively I think). He'd have appointed his kids to proper jobs ages ago if he were allowed to, that's why they are just special advisers.

If rules mattered we wouldn't have the two most recent Supreme Court nominees confirmed.

Rules don't matter anymore. See Emoluments Clause.

White men are so truly tortured and victimized. It's really awful.

How do I know this?...because Jordan Peterson told me to think this way, and he uses big words so he's obviously smart.
I may or may not agree with your premise, but the presentation...ok that's funny!:cheers:

The problem with the country is participation trophies.

You now have a couple generations that have never learned how to win with some grace, or lose and have to adjust your approach and work harder or smarter.

If I didn't get "my way" clearly something is wrong, and it wasn't "fair" - never enters the mind they may be wrong, or other people may be right or both. Change the rules, change the process, throw a tantrum. And when they finally do win, be vengeful, change the rules, punish the loser, and then blame them because they did it first.

Everything (both sides) is becoming all or nothing. There is no kinda/sorta, if you disagree with me on one thing, you disagree with me on everything - and you're stupid. I can't even tell you why, but someone I've never met did the thinking for me in 140 characters, so here - take that! There are very few things in this world that are truly binary, and it's a lot less than our "leaders" would have us believe. That's not to say they don't exist, but there is flexibility is most things.

I'm not a total cynic, but I do totally believe this - If society generally functions smoothly and genuinely tries to find real solutions to real issues themselves...they have much less reliance on politicians (elected and unelected) or "champions, and that's bad for business. Fear-mongering, falsely inflaming situations, creating tempests in teapots, and stirring up shi* is a HIGHLY profitable cottage industry on both sides, and it's primary goal no matter what it's slogan say, is self-preservation and sustainable revenue stream. And we've all allowed someone to pull our strings before without even realizing it.

Except sports. If you are a Liverpool or Alabama fan, your probably really are just stupid ;)

This is too funny. Two young Republicans in Arizona attempted to pose as members of the NAU (Northern Arizona University) Communist Party and donate cash to a Democratic congressional candidate, insisting upon a receipt. Obvious goal was to then try to paint the Dem as a far-leftist/communist type. They were easily found out and the money returned. Here's a link to a Youtube clip showing the money being returned as well as an article about it.
