Perhaps, though the point with that is that he’s already won - Gorsuch and Kavanaugh already picked, NAFTA and Paris in the bin, the UN without money, the embassy in Jerusalem. He did a speech a couple of nights ago under a banner of “Promises made, promises delivered” and in terms of his horrifying base he has done that. If the Dems plan to get votes on the basis that he has to be stopped then this may not go well for them.
NAFTA is hardly in the bin, it just got renegotiated. It needed to be updated anyway.

That’s not what the people are running are campaigning on.

But it’s certainly a motivating factor for Democrats to get out and vote, and for independents too, who want a Congress that actually performs its job and acts as a check on the President, which the GOP members have completely abdicated their responsibility on.

The big difference now is that most moderate people and free thinking people had a shred of respect for the GOP, as their political views (free markets, lower taxes, smaller gov't, etc, etc) at least warranted some healthy debate.

But since the GOP has fallen all over themselves getting into bed with someone like Trump, it's either vote Democrat or you're [implied] for this train wreck in office.

Not saying this is a sound long term strategy, but for many people, there's only one party to actually vote for in the coming election, as flawed as it may be.

Trump woke people up. I mean, it's just embarrassing to see this guy on TV every day. At least before, you had to turn to NBC or whatever his clownish show was on

So Trump is now touting Ivanka as potential successor to Nikki Haley as UN Ambassador.

I hope he does it. Her confirmation hearing would be amazing. Lots of fun questions about the Trump Org, taxes, income streams etc etc

Pretty sure he's not allowed to appoint his family to actual proper positions, that's why they're special advisors etc.

Haley is a smart cookie - she's lining up a run in 2024. The inevitable firing from Trump wouldn't look good. She also needs the money from a private sector job.
