I'm not going to agree or disagree with this. It doesn't refute my post. That promising to largely give free money to traditional Dem voters helped cement the Dem base. Not sure why you singled out young voters here. The student loan cancellation will have benefited voters well towards middle age too. Also, take exit poll data with a massive pinch of salt. They are notoriously unreliable. The fact is student loan cancellation was the easiest of moves for the Biden Administration. That's not a criticism, it's what a well functioning political administration should do. Plenty of great PR but no financial cost.Student loan forgiveness did not figure prominently into the 2022 elections in any meaningful way. Exit poll data shows that Dems were motivated by 1) Dobbs, 2) concerns about inflation/jobs/taxes (also a concern of Republicans), 3) gun violence/gun reform (climate change also was an issue among young Dems). Young voters turned out in favor of Democrats but these issues, not debt forgiveness, were what motivated them.
