^^^^^^^SCOTUS, Biden's student debt relief programme is unlawful!
The hypocrisy is unreal
This feels like a clay davis quote. Not really though is it with any real analysis, gifts between friends and using executive power to bypass the Congress to fund a very large welfare program are not really the same thing.
I find the demonisation of Clarence Thomas one of the most unsettling aspects of the politicisation of the SC, he's not some mouth breathing political reactionary, we're all for diversity until it includes being tolerant of people who don't think think like us, and then it's straight back to throwing rocks.
It's not hard to see why Roberts is disliked by the liberals on the Court. He belongs on the Court, unlike Burger, but he behaves a lot like Burger. Kagan's dissent suggests she feels much the same way Brennan did.The Trump SCOTUS, perhaps the most significant SCOTUS since the early 1970's.

The 'tolerant' clarence thomas lol
That is really good if you hear it in Chris Tucker's voice.Shieeeeet
It's John Roberts, expect him to revert to a liberal stance sooner or later. It's hard to believe there is a conservative SCOTUS, so many supposed SCOTUS conservatives have disappointed in the past. In my more hopeful moments I sometimes wonder whether these SCOTUS justices are looking at the larger political picture and not liking what they are seeing. However, with the student loan case it was all a sham imo. Biden knew it wouldn't stand, Pelosi knew it wouldn't stand. It was merely a cheap political trick to cement the Dem base in the mid-terms and beyond. It was free political money for the Biden administration. It's not hard to see why Roberts is disliked by the liberals on the Court. A word of note: we almost had Merrick Garland as a Supreme Court Justice!
I have little concern over whatever Roberts wrote or did for the Reagan administration. My post was entirely concerned with his SCOTUS rulings. For quite some time Roberts has been viewed as a swing vote in SCOTUS. The reason for this is NOT because his rulings have been conservative in tooth & claw.ROFL.
Read the stuff he wrote for Reagan's administration, then come back. He's slow walking his strategy, because he's smart. He's still that guy, without a doubt.
You're joking, and turning a blind eye to context to boot.I have little concern over whatever Roberts wrote or did for the Reagan administration. I don't need someone with a journalism degree to tell me how the world works, or who Roberts is. I can read, and think. John Lewis hated his guts for a reason.
None of which I necessarily disagree with. I'm simply stating that Roberts for many years was mistrusted by conservatives. I think his judicial record for a number of years showed why the mistrust. His former beliefs or stances are of little relevance. Joe Biden sponsored the 1994 Federal crime bill. A bill that incarcerated tens of thousands. Today's Joe Biden has reinvented himself. He is not the same man. People's past beliefs and opinions can be jettisoned.I don't need someone with a journalism degree to tell me how the world works, or who Roberts is. I can read, and think.
