A few weeks ago NPR had a very interesting segment on the history of abortion and how it was actually a common practice in this country until the mid 1800s when a group of zealous doctors changed all that by pushing for legislation that punish abortion. So any claims by the Supreme Court that it is not deeply rooted in this Nation’s history and tradition is bullshit

There are Christian women around the country that are celebrating this ruling. The whole "committing" suicide thing is being way too sensationalized by left-wing Twitter accounts. Why do you make it seem as if this is an attack on women? If it is an attack on women, why are many women so happy with this? Let me tell you something, if men had to give birth instead of women, I would still be anti-abortion but of course you're going to put a misogynistic spin on this.

I support abortions in the cases to save the mothers life, that's a given. I would be a very bad human not to support it in those circumstances but that's where my support for the procedure ends. So you could stop your straw man arguments. I'm not against women getting abortions to save their lives, if the doctor says so, it has to be done. But thats the ONLY time abortion should be carried out, full stop.

I recommend you take a break from this thread.
Opinions, however backward, are allowed. Being an ass about it is not.

I'll make this final point, and then bow out from any further discussion with you on this issue for the time being.

It's not being "way too sensationalized", because even one single woman committing suicide, dying, or suffering lifelong complications because of lack of access to an abortion is one too many given that it was easily avoidable by the United States simply guaranteeing the right to that medical care to all of it's citizens and not allowing states to enact draconian laws that either make it impossible or impractical for them to obtain it.

If a woman needs an abortion to save her life or to avoid lifelong complications as you put it, they will be able to get one in all 50 states, given the medical team have approved it. This hasn't changed at all. What's changed is getting an elective abortion, there's a fine difference.

Stop lying. There is legislation already on the books in some states and ready to go in others that would outlaw abortion in all circumstances.

If only things were as black and white.

What about the marginal cases, where doctors may even disagree about whether an abortion is necessary? You honestly believe this disgrace of a SC decision won’t lead to some doctors erring on the side of avoiding potential prosecution?

This law will lead to women dying. That is a fact, albeit an uncomfortable one for the likes of you.

But since I couldn’t give two shiny ones about your comfort, how about cases of rape or invest? Are you onboard with those victims being forced to carry their abuser’s child to term? Because there are States where right now, this minute, that’s exactly what they have to do.

Or (given that you’re such a fan of living in the past) perhaps you’d prefer they go about things the old fashioned way and just take a tumble down the stairs to avoid that psychological trauma.

His reply to this yesterday was a bible quote.
