15 weeks is significantly different than the 10 weeks you first mentioned.

I’m going to tag in @DrEFC (sorry mate) to cover the mid trimester scans that can determine both maternal and baby health as they are out of my wheelhouse but most medical professionals I know are supportive that decisions about abortion be left to the patient with generous timelimits.
In some cases even 6 months could be ok medically, but why go off-the chart, to the point of surprassing European standards when you are living in a minefield of a country? I don't understand

Because I believe that the healthcare choices around a pregnancy are between a woman, her family and the best advice of her healthcare professionals and establishing draconian “this is how it shall be” rules don’t reflect the complications that turrn up in real life.

The initial post that I responded to was “10 weeks should be latest. And beyond it, mother's health in danger only.” I’m not familiar with every European country’s law so feel free to expand on what they actually are but to my limited knowledge that statement is not reflective of European standards re abortion limits.

Bolded is the ideal but in a country like yours things will take time.

Yeah I checked many; most has it between 10-15 weeks. 20+ weeks I couldn't see any.

I thought majority of UK was 24 weeks?
Abortions can take place in the first 24 weeks of pregnancy in England, Scotland and Wales.
However, they have to be approved by two doctors. They must agree having the baby would pose a greater risk to the physical or mental health of the woman than a termination.
Abortions were illegal before the the introduction of the 1967 Abortion Act, which initially allowed them to take place up to 28 weeks. This was reduced to 24 weeks in 1990.
Abortions after 24 weeks are allowed only if:
  • the woman's life is in danger
  • there is a severe fetal abnormality
  • the woman is at risk of grave physical and mental injury
Since 2018, women in England have been allowed to take the second of two early abortion pills at home, rather than in a clinic. This brings the rules in line with Scotland and Wales.

Why should it come to an abortion for a person to decide whether they are "ready" to give birth? There are so many forms of contraception available.
So if a man fails to put a condom on, a women should be forced to give birth?

Or are we just talking about women using contraception here?
