Most of the significant matters in American politics all pertain to social issues, such as abortion, LGBTQ, race relations, religion, gender identity and so on. Fiscal matters such as healthcare isn't at the forefront with most of the public. I'd support a national health care but there has to be a clear strategy on how it would work. All good things sound good on the surface, but in reality it's most likely not good in the long run. I don't want a socialized society like how they have it over in Sweden and if people are really willing for that, they are free to emigrate. Introducing a socialized healthcare will just hurt the common working American who has 5 kids with a housewife.

Only 39% of Americans believe in the actual evolution theory, over 80% believe in God, and a huge chunk of our population are religious holding traditional values. You say the left are "terrible at fighting back" but how can you fight back with something so destructive to majority of Americans? How can Americans accept their kids being in drag shows or is that because the Left are failing at their job?

Why do you put so much emphasis on a national airline or national broadcaster? That's a very trivial matter lol.

Not believing in the theory of evolution is like not believing in cheese. It isn't a question. There is no debate. If 40% of the richest nation on earth are thick enough to disregard it, then they need to be educated.

You talked about a tit for tat with regard to left and right, I didn't emphasize a national airline or broadcaster, merely mentioned them as examples of things a left leaning country might have.

I also find that most social issues in America are also economic issues as most minority groups are at a distinct economic disadvantage. This is partly engineered by the right.

Abortion is a grey area but as soon as you realize that the constitution stipulates the separation of church and state, you realize that your religious beliefs don't trump my secular beliefs so the amount of Americans who don't believe in evolution is irrelevant, embarrassing but irrelevant

Emir, we live in a country with no national pre k, no national health care, no national airline, a terrible national rail network, an almost amateur national broadcaster and so on and so forth. About the only national programs that are extensive are the roads and the military and most americans don't see them as left leaning.
There's no left in America. The main stream Dems could almost be Tories and the progressive wing would be considered centerists in most other places.
Universal health care and stronger climate change policies aren't the stuff of left wing extremists.

So it's not tit for tat.
The right has weaponized religion and patriotism and the left are terrible at fighting back, mainly because there is no left per se.

When I was over in the UK this past winter I was asked why I thought so Americans believed COVID was a hoax and refused to get the vaccine. My answer was simple, we’re talking about a place where a not-insignificant number of people believe that men and dinosaurs once walked the earth together. Not believing a scientist was always a short walk for these people.

You’re absolutely right, a lot of people are seriously lacking in legitimate education.

Mate, I have very good friends from the US who are educated, and have travelled beyond their borders. They are frankly embarrassed at the level of ignorance in their fellow citizens.

Essentially, the red necks that landed in the 17th century with their bitter, self centred attitude of a "superiority" over all others has remained strong in a frighteningly large corpus of the US population. They destroyed the native population and brought slavery from Africa. They have never moved beyond this attitude.

Sadly there is a large rump in the UK at the moment with a similar "I hate everything foreign" attitude to the rest of us that are trying to live together peacefully.

What Putin is doing is leading us to destruction of hundreds of thousands of innocents on the basis that Russia is superior to anything foreign.
