If these polls are accurate, this could be an abject disaster for the Democrats. There’s no reason it should be so close in a state Biden won so easily last fall. Still, I’m skeptical. The polls for the CA recall election indicated the race was pretty tight, but Newsom ended up strolling to victory.

A huge disaster and Democrats can’t afford to be complacent about it. if there is lack of voting enthusiasm in VA, this could be a reflection of what could happen in next year’s elections. Democrats need to stop fighting and pass these bills on social spending, tackling climate change and infrastructure. And more importantly, they to do a better job explaining to the American public how those bills are going to impact their lives for the best.

ironically social media now, especially the likes of Facebook can be accused of the same thing but from a left perspective. Plenty of 'discussion' in left vs everyone else is removed as hate speech, the head of global operations for facebook is former left wing policitican leader Nick Clegg.

There is lies and misinformation on both sides, no matter which platform you pick from. That is part of the problem these days, social media politics is the most unreliable source of information or discussion because the lot of them won't acccept a difference of opinion.

I would hestitate before generalizing from this race. McAuliffe has always been a fairly rubbish candidate whose only real qualification was being part of the Clinton inner circle. He's good at fundraising, paying off businesses after raising funds, and not a whole lot else (including campaigning as the candidate).

Unfortibately, there are more challenges to Roe coming next month, I believe. So here's a hope that this unusual method of restriction gets tossed aside permanently.
