It's so ridiculous. They've honestly been led to believe that CRT is defined as "children being taught anything other than the notion that white people have a spotless reputation throughout recorded history". As usual, his entire argument breaks down when the interviewer uses Jordan Klepper's go-to weapon, the basic follow up question.

You see that here all the time too - just look (for example) at how many posters here bang on about Marxism (and how Corbyn, BLM, Biden or anyone to the left of Trump are Marxists) without knowing the slightest thing about what that actually is.

it's also a complete non issue. It's a hot button topic straight out of the talk radio play book and time and time again people eat it up, just like this poor old fella. His brain has been turned to soup by Murdock.

It's why they win elections.
yup, it's depressing. After all these years we seem to be no closer to finding a way to counter this populist nonsense.
Seems the more you point out how nonsensical it is, the more intrenched they get.
If you work with them, find a compromise and figure out a solution that suits everyone, they move on to the next ridiculous hot take.
It's never ending stupidity. Quite tiring really.

Lets hope this means the Supreme Court throw it out

If you want my opinion, they were always going to strike down the Texas law. That law was passed in the full knowledge that it would never withstand scrutiny. Kavanaugh has simply pointed out why. The Texas law is just an obvious straw man.

The most likely outcome, IMO, is that Kavanaugh will vote to strike down the Texas law and will reverse the lower court's decision in the Mississippi case. The interesting question in that case is why they took it. The Court generally grants cert to reverse the lower court. A polarized court like Warren's or this one is even more likely to reverse cases than the norm. I'd guess we're looking either at the Mississippi law being upheld, or the lower court's decision to strike being affirmed but with an attached explanation as to what will pass muster.

At heart critical race theory has a good intention. The end result of it is exactly where you need education to be.

My only question would be, applying it to education all across America , to what extent would it be politically motivated and therefore bias in its approach? Equality and awareness is very much important factors but that will fail if you deliver it with a very specific message.

There is a difference with teaching equality and another teaching something one sided.

I don't understand your question

To what extent would critical race theory be taught fairly now or with an ulterior message?

If it's fairly then fantastic , history well worth teaching. If it is misleading now then it could well be dangerous.

In light of people calling for it to be banned, not every person is as clueless as the man above. Some will have other reasons to ban it, personally the point of it has to be taught either way I think.

I'll take the bait.

What's an example of the "fair" teaching of CRT, vs what would be the "misleading" teaching of CRT?

What "ulterior message" would CRT be teaching kids?

For what it's worth, the American education system (I didn't go through it so I could be way off) seems to bury it's head in the sand when it comes to anything negative. Native American genocide, racism and slavery, the nuclear bombs dropped on Japan/Internment camps for Asian Americans, the list goes on.

This could probably be said for every education system, Ireland and the church, Britain and its shady colonial past...
Doesn't mean we shouldn't strive to teach the next generations all about what we screwed up.
