The current Republican Party is an embarrassment (and this guy lacks so much emotional and intellectual development, I still can’t believe he is my congressman). The way they are conducting themselves is showing their true colors, to think they are going to remove someone from a leadership position because she is not willing to push a lie about a stolen election shows how low they are willing to go to appease Trump.
She seems to be one of the canaries in the coal mine for just how quickly the Republican Party is spiraling out of control. A year ago most Democrats would have looked at her as one of the more loathesome memebers of that party. Now, they’ve moved into taking such radical political stances, she’s somehow one of the “good” ones.

I have always dislike Cheney and her family so they are definitely not the "good" ones in my book. So I really don't care that she has been removed from a leadership position but I am bother by the fact that someone (regardless of who the person is) has been abolished from a leadership post because the person is standing up to their party on their election lies. So I really do hope that rational Republican voters get enraged over this move and voice their discontent at the ballot.

Any minute now those on here that say the left is the issue will be right along to justify their behavior and tell us again that the left is imploding.

Oh wait that's right they won't.

I sure hope this effort is successful. If no people in the US should have another option over voting for the current corrupted and morally broken Republican party.

“This is us saying that a group of more than 100 prominent Republicans think that the situation has gotten so dire with the Republican Party that it is now time to seriously consider whether an alternative might be the only option,”

It’s about time.

Quickly moving to kick a person out of their leadership position who dared to step a toenail off the party line is deeply ironic coming from the party who never stops railing against “cancel culture”.

It is about time the US has more than the current two party system, it will serve our nation better having more options than what's currently offered.

Republicans always have a excuse for everything, they will claim it was an ingrown toenail thus justifying the removal ;)

100% agree. Providing a alternative to toeing the party line is long overdue. Not having this has at least in part led to the extremism we currently see.
Even small nations like Colombia have more alternatives to political parties than the US so it is time for us to have more choices because the current binary party system is not serving us well specially since the US is so ideological divided into two irreconcilable teams.

Ireland has 13 parties to choose from.

The problem is though the current system here doesn't suit more than two. It's geared to too and anyone else that has tried was ridiculed.

I would love to see this country move out of the dark ages and get with the program and have more choice.

I just think it will be hard for any third party to be given a shot. Especially by the media when it comes around to election time.

The rules on donations and contributions have to be curbed too. It's ridiculous the amount spent by politicians on advertising
