I don't follow this closely but apparently Greenberg, who is close to Gaetz, has agreed a plea deal. This might get really nasty now, and I can only enjoy watching it if it becomes terrible for Gaetz.

Sadly idiots are going to be idiots, spouting rubbish they've read online without looking at the actual rules and laws in place. You will probably remember the stories of people here in the UK quoting the Magna Carta as a reason they can do what they want. An 800 year old document that means literally nothing other than being an interesting historical document.

I’m sure I’ve said this in here before, but these are the exact same people who are adamant that a private business should have the right to tell a gay couple “We don’t serve your kind here.” Their hypocrisy is mind numbing.
