Well, that was the report you pulled from the internet. I was quoting actual OECD statistics, and it kind of feels like youre only dismissing them now because you don't like what they say.

But tbf, our eyes can tell us everything we need to know. America clearly has a worse poverty problem than, say, any developed European country
I’d recommend you actually read the article I linked. It does use oced and world bank data. However it relies on the reporting from the member countries. I trust most western countries to report accurately. I don’t trust a China to do the same. Don’t think that’s dismissing anything.

Either way, I fully acknowledge we have issues. I also will sum up my whole argument in the following and then it’s off to play a little golf before it rains.

1. We should do more to help people in tough situations and provide better resources, training, education. We should not just hand people things.
2. I’ll never agree with the default mindset of people saying, “I can’t because it’s hard” or “What can you do for me?” Rather try thinking, “What can I do better or differently?” There’s always something no matter how successful you are.

These two things are not binary. You can do both.

Cheers prev. Have a good Saturday.

On this, we agree. But unfortunately, for a lot of your countrymen, providing help, resources, training and education to poor people is "handing people things". So it is binary to many of the people who shout the loudest about these issues. Your heart is in the right place though, so wishing you the best of Saturdays aswell

I killed a person I didn't know and left her in the bathtub. Vote for me!

Might just be me, but he's kinda glossed over the incident. Weird considering he's devoted a section of his site to it. What actually happened?
The paralegal who was half his age that he was dating was found dead in his bathtub - his website hardly screams sadness for her untimely demise does it?

He actually called his attorney buddy and waited until he got there before he called the cops to report it.

There was a book written about it by the journalist he mentions.

If you type the girls name in Google it's astonishing the amount of facts that have leaked from the case and it seems the cops were quick to rule it an accidental death.

Even after this guy's ever changing testimony and odd behavior.

Apparently anyone with a crackpot theory, if they are loud enough, can get the ear of the Arizona election commission.

As funny as this is the sad reality is the company doing the check is his. Using software and tech he claims finds bamboo.

So what's stopping him lying.

Who can despute him?

Given that, I am guessing, another independent company is not involved. He believes that there is fraud so he can say there is bamboo.

Did they even check that his software does what it says?

There has to be. or if nothing else there has to be a second round of validation that just disproves the initial claims of findings that would be made. I wouldn’t think too much about it. Feels like a money grab scam these companies are running to get paid to find nothing based on crackpot theories. The amount of money paid out investigating this has to be in the tens of millions at this point.

Yeah it's such a waste of resources and energy. Especially given that it still won't change the result. Even if they did lie and said there was cheating it's a moot point and it would then be challenged in courts wasting more time and energy and importantly resources.

The scary part is that no state should be entertaining crackpot theories in the first place. I mean come on China mailing 40k votes to be then distributed into various boxes across the country. An operation on that scale would take some doing even for China.

This is akin to the Republican nonsense in California with the recall. Power grabs using covid and conspiracies to justify them.
