I think shorter opening statements would have been wiser by both Grassley and Feinstein.

Given how he pronounced Raminez I am certain it isn’t Spanish! Is English grassley’s first language ?
Agreed.I think shorter opening statements would have been wiser by both Grassley and Feinstein.
I’d add tarred and feathered, the leak was disgusting.I think the Democrats who leaked this woman's story out and placed her in this position should be horsewhipped. She clearly isn't ready for this, and is very brave, no matter how misguided. I feel very badly that she has been placed in this position. This sounds like a classic case of recovered memory, which is very dicey business in all aspects. I can't think of anything less foundationally strong to build your argument on than recovered memory.
The Dems were convinced that the GOP would cave, and they didn't. Now comes the response. She really thinks the people who put her here have her back. It the long run, it will those she accuses that will save her. I do feel compassion.

I don’t know what recovered memories are but this seems genuine memory to me, with all the gaps and inconsistencies that involves. The “second front door” testimony I found particularly powerful.

Grassley is being very polite, Mitchell (asking the questions) has been polite and asking good clarifying questions.
It depends what your standards of proof you are using - is it proof beyond reasonable doubt as in a criminal trial? Is it probable cause which is a lower standard such as you’d used for getting a warrent etc? Is it a lower “Caesars wife should be above suspicion”?I have little doubt she's telling the truth - the trouble is proving it.
If Trump is sensible he should just withdraw Kavanaugh and go with another nomination after this. But, you know, it's Trump.
