Oh, this guy is a peach.

He was perma-banned by YouTube when he proclaimed the impeachment of Cheeto was a "Jew-coup" and that Christians were next, "(t)hat's the next thing that happens when Jews take over a country. They kill millions of Christians."

That commentary and ban from YouTube didn't stop the Cheeto Admin from giving this "preacher" credentialling to interview Ivanka and broadcast as a legitimate news outlet from the World Economic Forum in Davos.

I’m not far from turning 40, but there were still more people elected to Congress this year from my grandparents generation than my own. That’s mind boggling. Considering that the stakes are pretty low for people in their 80’s, as they won’t really be around to deal with the consequences of their policies, age limits might be something worth seriously considering.

Thats insane. How can new ideas can be realised with that kind of demographic. Not really much hope for progressive politics

My own pet gripe in the UK is the number of MP’s who have never had a real job.

read politics at Uni
Political researcher
MP of a safe seat

I’d make it the law that had to prove 15 years in a proper job before you can enter the house.

Indeed, but that’s something (something else) that the party system can be blamed for; without a central point for them to all suck up to in order to get forced on local constituency parties its very unlikely locals would pick that sort as candidates.

I dunno what rules I would or wouldn’t impose, but the hurdles are insane. I’ve worked to help a few local MP’s or candidates during campaigns over the years, and I looked into what might be involved to run myself at some point, and it’s almost impossible if you haven’t come up “through the system”. And ridiculously expensive too.
