This is a complete aside but it really is amazing that voting machines were not killed off ten years ago when they were exposed as being inherently unsafe.
Something to watch while we wait.

I don't know that it is always machines even though they are using that word. One of the pictures in this thread was the same as where I voted and said machine but the reality was it is just a desk with walls to protect confidentiality while you fill out the ballot. So you have to have them to vote even though the ballots are paper and not having them is still a problem.

My expectations are so low they are right next to 'kin dinosaur bones.
The odds for the Republicans to keep the majority in the house is getting backed in.
The Onion has had some good ones today
I'm pretty sure the Republicans will hold both, even if the house is held narrowly.
Which of course would be a disastrous result for the Democrats.
The problem I see is that I see no clear figurehead for them emerging as an electoral hope. They seem in disarray and relying on celebs to do their job on social media - and that echo chamber, as we all know by now, doesn't translate to votes.
We'll see though.
