just saying on the radio, that there has been a big turn out to vote in states like Texas, does this historically favour on party or the other?

In the primaries democratic turn out doubled I think , I’d think anything but a big turn out means that have no chance. however I suspect as much as anything it indicates that this is a tight fought race and the interest that’s created .

So my post is probably no help all .

i was just wondering if the anti trump vote had mobilized, to account for the turnout,

I think people are certainly engergized for o’rourke the primaries showed that and the polls indicate it , that it could even be close should be a huge boost for them really. As I meant to say really without a big turn out I don’t think democrats have a chance of winning so you’d think that might give them a bit more hope but it’s still a huge ask to win it.

watched a thing on the telly the other week, about o'rourke he came across really well, bit of a star in the making for his party.

I think high turnout means different things in different states. In a state like Texas, high turnout favors the Democrats. Texas usually votes Republican, and also usually has some of the worst turnout.

Latinos make up over 40% of the population in Texas, and have historically not shown up at the polls. There are many reasons for that, including voter suppression tactics, but historically old white people disproportionately represent Texas at the polls.

A high turnout will mean younger people and more Latinos will have voted. Both demographics favor the Democrats by a significant margin. Will it be enough in Texas? Guess we are about to find out.

I just read on the BBC web-site that "Donde Votar?" ("Where to vote?" in Spanish) has been the top search item on Google today. I'd think that would be a good indicator for the Democrats.

Democrats:
We'd like to make sure all Americans have health insurance.
We'd like to discuss sensible gun-control measures so innocent Americans are no longer murdered.
We'd like to raise the wages for hard-working Americans.
We'd like to reform immigration in a manner that is both dignified and sticks to American principles.
We'd like to have a balanced plan for climate change vis-a-vis economic growth

Republicans:
There are busloads of brown people coming to rape your daughters.

Yep. This sums it up quite nicely.

I don’t know if it is a deliberate attempt to suppress the vote but even if it just incompetence then Kemp doesn’t deserve to be promoted Senate if he can’t manage simple issues as enough power cords at voting places as Sec of State.

Detroit at MLK high school
Hate to stereotype, but I assume a high school named after MLK is not in a predominately white precinct
