Current Affairs General US politics (ie, not POTUS related)

I've lost faith in the US and think the majority of the country are legally braindead.

For example:

"The Republican edge among white men without a college education increased from 27 points in October to 39 points."

I think that will be the story - Republicans hold firm because Americans are either incapable of or simply choose not to learn their lesson.
Wouldn't this make your take that you've lost faith in the US because "the majority of those without a college education" are legally braindead?

I admit that I know little about American politics, except to say that I could never have voted for Trump. However, how brain dead must Democrats be who voted for Hilary? The choice was a rock or a hard place and I'm not sure who was the 'rock' and who was the 'hard place'.

You didn't really need to state the first bold part, if you were going to say the second part. It became blindingly obvious at that point.

I voted for Hillary, does that make me brain dead, just curious?

Not really, you don't have to know about American politics to recognise two waster's when you see them.
The ultimate in false equivalency.

One was a reality gameshow host. That bankrupted legitimate businesses that literally have a license to print money (casinos).

One was a former secretary of state that's been in politics her whole life. Was she likeable? Who cares. See above.

But yeah, two wasters

No, really.

Trump is a racist, mysoginistic, low information voter who somehow found his way into the White House. His so called "business success" involved multiple bankruptcies, and so far as he HAD success, it was built on hundreds of millions of dollars in handouts from his father.

Hillary, while not my cup of tea in terms of personality, would have been arguably the most qualified President to ever take office.

Pretty much, as bad as that sounds. The simplest explanation is often the right one - it's no coincidence that the uneducated are a key voting demographic for Trump. Not just white males either - 61% of white females without a college education voted for Trump too. There's a correlation between racism and education too.

Same as the UK where university educated voters voted consistently for remain

Indeed.

As I say, I know it sounds bad but it's simple fact backed up by the figures we have available.

Of course, uneducated doesn't always equal stupid and I know some very bright people who never went to university (and I know many who have went to university that don't have an ounce of common sense), but generally speaking it is what it is.

Any predictions for tomorrow?

I suspect that, again, the polls will be wrong and will have greatly underestimated Republican turn-out, and that even many of the leaning-blue seats won't be taken. (I don't want this to happen).

50/50 for Dems to win the house. Dems get blown out in the senate. Don't believe any polls.
