The same if you live in a house, flat/apartment or the like. Imagine going to someones abode and them having separate mens and womens loo 🙃
If you want to keep your women and kids safe from predators, try avoiding vicars, priests and dodgy uncles long before trans people in toilets

It really is a nothing, nothing issue.

I'm loath to get involved in this at all as I don't have a dog in the fight, but my understanding is that this is a basic misrepresentation of the issue at hand. From speaking to women who are concerned about this, their concerns centre around access to a space which would otherwise be female only, so an aeroplane toilet wouldn't apply. In other words it's not so much the cubicle itself that's the issue, but the wider room which they are potentially isolated in with a male.

That's what I thought when I read it, the tweet is a bit disingenuous.

Imagine a fully intact man walking in behind your wife or daughter into a toilet on a empty train station late at night, or in a swimming pool locker room with your daughter for example.

Somebody mentioned something on here that softened my stance on it, about a night out and the transwoman in question wouldn't dare go to either bathroom - it made me quite upset to be honest and sat and thought about it, and I do feel there's a conversation to be had but not at the safety of women & girls.

I'm not insinuating that transwomen are predatory (although some are, transwomen in prison are 6x more likely to be in for sex crimes against women, with studies showing they show male-pattern criminality), my point is that it opens a loophole for genuine predators.

Do you think Rolf Harris, Jimmy Savile and Gary Glitter all used different toilets to male children? Do we have separate bathrooms for Catholic priests etc?

As for your anecdote about women you’ve spoken to, I know a lot of women too, and not one of them has expressed concern about sharing bathrooms, with anyone.

Well that’s why I was loath to say anything, because people like you can’t just say ah right sorry did I just make a ridiculous assumption that was embarrassingly wrong? You have to kick off as if I’ve just said something terrible. Weird that not all women have a hive mind though isn’t it, and some might be bothered by things that others aren’t? I can’t imagine why that would be at all, it can only be that one of us is making it up I think, there’s no other explanation.

Don't worry they just say things for likes. I mean nothing he said there made sense.

And he is wrong because in primary schools children have separate toilets to teachers. For security reasons you know because a teacher could be a saville or a Harris.

The irony given how many school children (especially private svhool) were abused by their teachers - but yeh, trans people are the issue …

It is more the fact you have to associate trans and sexual predators.

I for one. Just say Trans are at significantly more at risk to violence than being violent towards others. Because that is the truth and don't need these odd side tracks about vicars and celeb pedos.

People keep saying that it is not safe for women and kids to use changing rooms where there are trans people, I am merely pointing out that it is less safe in school, church, at home than in said changing room

That's conjecture. I don't think calling all priests pedos is a good way of really easing women when talking about safety. Or a good way of arguing this point.

It's better to say. Look back at segregation for whites and black bathrooms. Once these segregation laws become abolished was there a rise in violence towards white women in bathrooms?

Answer obviously being no. Because the perceived threat you imagine from an unknown entity, is all just negative stories to keep people segregated from public life and to keep them down.

Because regardless of you gender, age, or colour we are all the same and all capable of good and bad.

Don't worry women, these trans over here aren't like Saville.

This is literally your debate. It is degrading to trans people. And trans individuals would never in telling others why they want to use a bathroom of their choice would use this as an angle of persuasion.

PE teacher at my school turned out to be a pedophile. There have been plenty, so your argument doesn’t make sense mate.

And I promise you I don’t just post for likes. I post what I think, just like most people on here.

Didn’t realise I’d ‘kicked off’, it certainly wasn’t my intention. I just have a different view to you. And I certainly don’t think one of us is lying, just that anecdotes don’t really prove anything.

For clarity, I think the whole trans people using women’s toilets is an absolute non issue. Until I see some data that proves otherwise that won’t change, no matter how many pearls get clutched in this thread.

It’s absolutely fine for you to have a different opinion, and I’m not trying to offend you.
