My biggest worry with the show going down to 13 episodes is that the writers won't be able to essentially build a story. Here is what we know will happen.

1. Wall comes down
2. White walker war
3. Sparrows killed off
4. John Targaeryn
5. Dany comes to westeros

So perhaps the last 13 epsiodes they make will just accelerate them stories with filler from the rest of them?

Also bold prediction, war for the throne, those over the sea who hate the lannisters will eventually turn up and seige kings landing helping whoever to take the throne. I'd imagine dany or john will be king before the white walker war though.

i do find it strange there are gonna be only 13 more episodes, you would have thought they would string it out(in fact no need to string it out as so much material)

but maybe has something to do with keeping on actors/cost

Poor writers mate, finished the books and now no idea how to write like the author without lifting his work to come out so streamline the series to end quicker than it probably should.

The official line is to spend more time on production as it is like a movie at the minute the amount of work needed. But lets be honest, ever heard any other show creators say that and hack their series apart for that reason?

It is a shame but hopefully they will improve the quality.

Is that definite? I thought it was just what they were considering

oh...no idea actually

Sound the ‘Not Particularly Surprising News That's Still Quite Exciting’ klaxon! HBO has renewed Game Of Thrones for season 7, before season 6 has even begun its televised run.

As per tradition, we’d expect Game Of Thrones season 7 to reach our screens in the month of April next year. There’s one thing we don’t know, though – how many episodes will make up the season this time around.

Seasons 1 through 6 have all had 10 episodes apiece, but word on the web is that the next two seasons of the show could have less. Speaking to Variety recently, co-showrunner David Benioff said “I think we’re down to our final 13 episodes after this season [the sixth one]”, and HBO executive Michael Lombardo mentioned that the showrunners are planning “probably two more years after [season] six”.

When you add those two quotes together, it sounds plausible that we could be getting 13 more Game Of Thrones instalments after season 6 to chronicle the show's endgame; some episodes in 2017, and another set in 2018. A 6-episode run and a 7-episode run, perhaps?

We’ll bring you more news as we hear it.

Was expecting the Karstarks or Umbers to backstab Ramsey at some point, especially after firing arrows into his own men. Even Jon mentions that they won't follow a man who won't fight for them when Ramsey declines the 1v1.

And what about murdering an innocent child? Thought that might be frowned upon up north.

The North Remembers my arse.

Disappointend with that tbh.
got better has it went on but Sept of Baelor and Tommen bit had no substance, just there for pure shock value. Wildfire was stored all over the city so that large of an explosion wouldve burned all of Kings Landing down. That being said I enjoyed seeing the tower of joy scene, Davos is proper boss as always as is lyanna Mormons. King in the north pt 2 is a bit daft, Jon was even just saying he wasn't really a stark, bit out of character of him not to try to get them all behind sansa instead

Just creates more conflict in the north like.
with Littlefinger doing his thing behind the scenes

R+L=J confirmed was unsurprising, as was Dorne going over to the Targs.
Surprised to see Cercei sit the throne at the end though.
Arya killing the Freys and feeding him his sons (as was done by another northern house in the books) was a nice touch.

Great point with that last bit, a good nod to the books (I believe its Lord Manderly who has the sons baked in pies). Although R+L=J was unsurprising it does fit the characters involved well (Lyanna always headstrong and wild, Rheagar and his prophecy, Ned putting family first (never bought him having a [Poor language removed]) and GRRM laid the groundwork for that early on. Yeah the Cersei bit was surprising though, thought she'd lose it when Tommen jumped.
