its very simple don't know why people are overthinking itis it possible you are all over thinking Sansa.
OK not telling John about the army coming probably helped them with an element of surprise which worked. Perhaps she did care about John but just thought he would stay alive considering he has already died once and been fine. The smile was probably because it was her involvement that was winning the battle, no one had asked her for advice and then here she is saving the day. Kinda like a maturing moment for her, for the first time she is in control of what is going on.
Plus everyone keeps glossing over sansa here. This was about her becoming lady of winter fell. It was about her taking back everything she had lost previously down to the likes of Ramsey and joffrey. For once she was fighting back on her terms not anyone else's. So John in that respect is a pawn in the play, the real power in the north is sansa now. As she has learned from all her experiences.
Also thought it was a great episode. Didn't care for the other stuff but the end chunk was fantastic and despite the inevitability of it all , still edge of your seat stuff.
Dire wolves seem a bit pointless now, thought they would have mythic powers or at least be metaphors for something
From what I've heard, you just wait til next week. Think back to season 1Dire wolves seem a bit pointless now, thought they would have mythic powers or at least be metaphors for something
If he does that he'd have got killed on the spot, was tryna piss Jon off so he'd fight him 1v1 (which he did)What planet are you on?
Battle of the bastards played out in utterly predictable fashion. Go back a week in this thread and people were calling it almost scene for scene. It was the Battle of Helm's Deep without the Orcs and Elves.
Ramsay had a golden chance to take out Jon after the battle reached the courtyard in Winterfell but didn't, and instead fired an arrow at someone who was already dying? Ridiculous. On top of that, there were the moronic mistakes Jon made at every step of the battle. No way he, Tormund or Wun Wun survive that battlefield in the first place.
It was enjoyable to watch, don't get me wrong. But George Martin is an unpredictable writer and the show writers are not - they should have slowed down and stuck to the source material instead of butchering the two biggest books to date in order to race ahead of the author. All we are getting now is standard Hollywood-style battles and gratuitous boobies (more Missandei please), with sporadic murders of supporting characters because the writers haven't the first clue how to advance story arcs.
I am curious where they take the story from here. The whole series was leading up to this battle and predictably Starks control winterfell again. I would imagine Stansa would have to become lady of winterfell and possibly produce an heir, so maybe that is part of little fingers plan after all? But then that is long term arc rather than short term.
John is a little bit here and there now. Thew whole story was leading up to him leading the battle and dying before that. Where does he go from here? He isnt going north again to fight the walkers yet, and he can't go south. Yet if he stays where he is then there is nothing to do? Perhaps poor storytelling going on there?
Dany going to war with Baelon on her way over to westeros? Consdering she has dragons and Baelon won't expect her to attack him, that battle won't last very long with all three dragons out in the field now. Only way about it is to twist and have her turn on theon and yara (ala the mad king) or one of the dragons die in the battle with baelon. Either way not very exciting progression there.
and finally, small prediction. perhaps the reason why Lady stoneheart is not been introduced is because she is already in it, STANSA!! Make her into a tough merciless lady of winterfell from now on. Really let her character take her experiences and turn them into a strong and powerful character? It makes sense for them to do it like that, and it means she becomes a significant character in the show compared to being a bit crap before now.
Greyjoy? The uncle? Kinda big character in that storyline? You vaped out of your skull again? Who is Baelon?

[how did Sansa know the dogs hadn't been fed , she wasn't there when Ramsey said that /SPOILER]
enjoying this series more than the last ones, it seems there might yet be a satisfactory ending to the whole plot, unlike, so i'm told, Lost.
She asks Jon where Ramsey is, in the previous scene. Presumably it was Jon that put him there with the dogs.
