That was terrible, apart from:

i) all the Hound bits, but especially that hangings scene. "We are all getting old... well, you're not" made me laugh more than GOT has ever made me laugh.
ii) drunk Missandei
iii) the look on Jaime's face as Brienne rowed off

All of which were gold. The Arya stuff was just nonsense though.

Basically.....it was just bad writing. All that thinking that the writers had actually come up with a clever plan for Arya. Just a hint at the end that it was something more, as she left the shrine without a limp and a bit of pomp in her step. Although why have everyone think you are crap at writing for another week? Why not allude to it more in the actual episode it happens in. You don't have to try to be clever for every little thing happening in the world

But what did she learn she didn't already have Sylvio whatever his name is teach her? The whole point was to teach her to be A girl with no name and in the end it meant nothing because she had her name. The countless hours spent on this plotline thrown in the bin with a Candle slicing swish of needle. Damn you writers. Oh well. Ep 9 to come. The pay off episode.

100% this. The writing is desperately poor now.

"What shall we do with the Blackfish?"

No different to the Barristan Selmy kill or the Roose Bolton kill. Just lazy, lazy writing.

And the Arya payoff just leaves us all wondering why on earth she was flashing the cash and strolling the streets in broad daylight in the first place.
