Disagree. It's just bad writing. The Waif has consistently displayed contempt and disdain for Arya, but not hatred. She has no reason to hate Arya. As Kiwi has pointed out, it's a jarring inconsistency that the Waif would make such a basic mistake. Equally, as BDF has already detailed, Arya was doing EVERYTHING wrong in terms of how to behave when on the run from an order of assassins who can change their facial appearance - more bad writing. It's a false peril situation in that they want us to fear for Arya, but we all know Arya won't die because the show writers have decided she's a key character.

Having said all that, it was a GREAT episode. The acting from some of the more minor characters was excellent - Lady Mormont, Lord Glover and the Blackfish all stood out for me. I also found myself thinking "I wonder if Ian McShane's character will be revealed to be Howland Reed?"

Unfortunately some of the plot is far too easily signposted: Brienne is going to rock up at Riverrun in time to save the Blackfish from Jamie, and Jamie from himself; The knights of the Vale will appear at the battle of Winterfell, just after Wun-wun and Tormund are killed and when Jon faces certain death, to save the day a la Gandalf at Helm's Deep. The writers would do well, IMHO, to shake up the formula that each season now seems to follow in terms of pacing - we all expect episode 9 to be the "big" episode because it's been that way since forever.

Don't look at the below if you don't want to know about Brienne.

Brienne turning up at Riverrun has already been previewed for the next episode. She is going to try and get the Blackfish to surrender, or she will fight Jaime herself (not sure why).

As you say the minor characters had some great moments and lines. Done very well
However can't say I was too impressed with Sansa and Jon, you'd think they'd have an answer when put on the spot as to why others should join them.

Stoneheart is coming boys. We're going to get us a reckoning.

The little Lady Mormont was brilliant. Think Arya's nemesis is going to be in for a bit of trouble when the Faceless Men see Arya still alive, that's just as bad as what Arya did with the actress.

Be interesting to see what Margaery manages to save herself and Loras, she's working on something but it is a mystery.

CANNOT WAIT FOR CLEGANE-BOWL!

I both liked and didn't see the point of that episode

This episode and last episode are all just moving the pieces into the places they need to be for it all to kick off in episodes 9 and 10. That's usually how the season goes, the middle of the season is just moving the plot to the big finales.

Loved that episode. Maybe because there was no Dany storyline......
The Blackfish is just badass. Can you imagine him, Stannis, Tywin and Euron Greyjoy together? That would be beyond boss. Also liked the Hound part and the Mormonts, very well acted. Nice to see the Mormont Castle and Riverrun. But the Iron Fleet has reached Meereen by now? That's ridiculous. Also, what happened to the Dorne subplot? Not that I would miss it though....

But please kill off the High Sparrow, he's so annoying with his BS.

I've just read a theory that it wasn't Arya (no needle?) but Jaqen H'ghar, testing Waif. Possible?

The Blackfish and Little Lady Mormont were great. I really like the pace of this season. Crap is actually happening, as opposed to waiting every episode for something good to happen like in the past.
