I have noticed this series the writers are pretty much paying fan service and actually being very predictable. Remember last season where barristen was killed off? When the screen cut to black I was actually shocked, did not see that coming. Anyway digressing a little.

Most of the story lines have been predictable so far and benjin and rlj stuff is pleasing the Internet theorists. But going on this train of thought, cersi's trial. She is confident zombie mountain fighting for her, how can she lose? What clever twist will the writers come up with?

How about tommen, aka the king being the champion of the faith?
You're spot on, the show writers have been piss poor for nearly two seasons now. Killing Stannis and Barristan Selmy were both huge calls that IMHO were completely wrong. It's widely rumoured that the Hodor scene last week was actually written by GRRM and I can believe it, given that it was delivered beautifully.

The Cleganebowl plot line is so painfully obvious that it would fit in with the rest of this season's painfully obvious theme... Tommen being the champion of the faith is a twist that the show writers could never come up with by themselves. It's very GRRM.

I'm intrigued to see how the Riverrun plot will pan out though. There's a possibility that we're going to see Jamie Lannister, who has pretty much redeemed himself in the eyes of most viewers, descend back into evil if he tries to wipe out the Blackfish and the remaining Tullys, and guess who's going to arrive at Riverrun just in time to get caught up in it? Brienne.

Making Benjen Coldhands was very fan service-y. GRRM said himself that Benjen wasn't Coldhands.

As you said, the standout episode this season was The Door cause it came straight from GRRM.

Arya FFS seriously? They have her walking around Bravos with no disguise, strolling along throwing down huge sums of money, standing on a bridge taking in the sights, then falling for the little old lady trick. She might as well have worn a target on her back, she could not have made it anymore easier for the waif. Completely out of character and utter bullshizen.

"Premier Killing machine", stabs in the gut when could just slit throat.

That can be explained with her hate for Arya and her intention to make her suffer.
Disagree. It's just bad writing. The Waif has consistently displayed contempt and disdain for Arya, but not hatred. She has no reason to hate Arya. As Kiwi has pointed out, it's a jarring inconsistency that the Waif would make such a basic mistake. Equally, as BDF has already detailed, Arya was doing EVERYTHING wrong in terms of how to behave when on the run from an order of assassins who can change their facial appearance - more bad writing. It's a false peril situation in that they want us to fear for Arya, but we all know Arya won't die because the show writers have decided she's a key character.

Having said all that, it was a GREAT episode. The acting from some of the more minor characters was excellent - Lady Mormont, Lord Glover and the Blackfish all stood out for me. I also found myself thinking "I wonder if Ian McShane's character will be revealed to be Howland Reed?"

Unfortunately some of the plot is far too easily signposted: Brienne is going to rock up at Riverrun in time to save the Blackfish from Jamie, and Jamie from himself; The knights of the Vale will appear at the battle of Winterfell, just after Wun-wun and Tormund are killed and when Jon faces certain death, to save the day a la Gandalf at Helm's Deep. The writers would do well, IMHO, to shake up the formula that each season now seems to follow in terms of pacing - we all expect episode 9 to be the "big" episode because it's been that way since forever.
