It was always going to happen. GRRM has took such a rediculously long time to write the next book that the show was always going to overtake him. I just wish they had used Joe Abercrombie's first law books for a series insted. You see he's actually capable of writing good books within a reasnable amount of time.

The first 4 series went along with the first 4 books, you saying they crammed 3 books worth into 1 season?
The first 2.

Also books 4 and 5 take place in exactly the same timeline, and they've cut out like 3/4 huge arcs, so..yeah. They've caught up. The only thing they haven't done yet which I've heard they are gonna do next year is the Greyjoys storyline.

Yep. Cut out a ridiculous amount of stuff.
Whole story re: the Greyjoys, another bloke who would have a claim to the throne that Tyrion would meet, dead Lady Stark resurrected with Beric Dondarrion e.t.c.

this would be a great tv series! im surprised stuff like this hasnt been looked at after success of GoT, great characters that would translate to tv brilliantly

Is there enough variety from the series then to bother reading crows and the 2 dragons book?

  • Pirate, man in his 40’s to late 50’s. He’s “an infamous pirate who has terrorized seas all around the world. Cunning, ruthless, with a touch of madness.”
He’s a dangerous-looking man. A very good part this season.

Euron's in.

I actually prefer the First Law books to the ASOFAI series but unfortnally i cant see anybody having the bottle to try and compete with GoT in tv just now. Shame really, considering Joe Abercrombie is supposed to be writing a new set of books also set in the First Law World.
