Thought that was terrible to be honest.

Start was decent, awful middle, end was actually okay. My issue is that we could have had that ending without the awful middle.

Gendry turns out to be the most pointless character in the entire thing, Bronn the most pointless in this season.

I thought the Drogon scene was good, and the hand of the king bit, but yeah, absolutely dire. Also, the wall is back up?

Never known a series so good to go so bad. This is way beyond Lost levels.

The wall was never down. The only part that was destroyed was at eastwatch by the sea. the rest remained standing.

Bronn was pointless I agree however with no tyrells left, they needed a lord for highgarden. Gendry was important in terms of which houses were still represented at the end at that meeting. All the main houses were there (other than Tyrell). Stark, lannister, baratheon, greyjoy, tully, arryn, Martell with Jon as targaryan. So even after all the fighting, 8 of the 9 main families are still standing.

Nope. Are you? I’d say if you’ve paid any attention to it in the past couple of series it’s been pretty clear where it was going in terms of Jon.

I think they purposefully didn’t do that as it was what was expected. We’ve already seen the dragons accept Jon as a Targaryen a few times. By doing it this way I feel like they are showing that the Drogon accepts he is a Targaryen and so there is no point flaming him as it wouldn’t do anything.

Burning the throne down was a symbolic stretch as it’s as if Drogon realises that her desire for it is ultimately why Dany has died.

But we don’t really need validation that Jon is a Targaryen given Bran has already confirmed it and the dragons have already acted in a way to show that.

Not making Jon the king is just nonsense.

It’s a twist for the sake of it, all logic leading up to the final season suggested it should be him.

!00%, he had to be made King, you've seen the journey he's been on, everything was leading to him being a great King, you find out he's the rightful heir to the throne then nothing comes of it.

Arya should have ended Cersei too, there needed to be a Stark getting revenge for Ned's death.

Jon and Dany have both cried over love in the past (Ygritte and Drogo respectively). Cersei has cried over the love for her children. Brienne hasn’t maybe technically cried but she was broken over Renly’s death. It’s really not out of character for any of them.

As for the weather change it’s pretty clear that “summer is coming”. The Long Night was stamped out when the Night King was killed.

yeah, they shed a bit of a tear, but john was making blubbering sounds when tirion was speaking to him (no tears though). It just seemed like there was more crying in this series than the rest of the series' put together.

I suspected as much about the weather, just thought it was supposed to be a winter that was supposed to last years. it only last a few weeks.

His journey was never about being king in my opinion. It was about stopping bad people from being in power but never then wanting power himself. He basically wanted a peaceful life which is why he took the Black in the first place. To help defend people but not having to get involved in the rubbish that comes with it. By being in the Nights Watch he realised the bigger threat at hand. But none of his moves were ever power based. So even when he realises he’s the true heir to the throne he doesn’t want to go near it. I think his ending is exactly right, going to live north of the wall with Tormund etc
