Agreed. Division 2 is still a high standard and perhaps the best place to test the new blood.Wouldn't be too worried mate, we need to find and develop a few and its a great breeding ground, had a great year down there the last time - got down to PUC and Gaelic Grounds for the first time since they were redeveloped.
Not sure if anyone saw the commissioned GAA demographics report but formalise what we’ve seen nationally anecdotally.
Falling number of playing members for clubs rurally and a lack of engagement in urban areas due to the cost and provision of playing facilities.
Really is competing needs depending where you are from in the association.
This is a bit Dublin centric - but a flavour of the problem, some of the numbers are stark.

There has been in North Armagh as that tended to be where the new Irish arrived for work opportunities (biggest industrial base outside of Belfast is Craigavon).Has there been any take up of GAA sports by 2nd generation migrants in Ireland?
The population shift to a narrow strip along the East Coast is so stark now. Just last week I saw news of a couple of thousand new houses planned between Newry and Banbridge due to the attraction of Dublin being easy hitting distance. Having travelled West last week to Roscommon, it was sad to see once thriving little villages pock marked with boarded up shops and bars.Not sure if anyone saw the commissioned GAA demographics report but formalise what we’ve seen nationally anecdotally.
